Farzana Dua Elahe speaks fluent Bengali, Hindi and Arabic. She is best known for role as Mahira in The Hundred-Foot Journey and as Joanna, in NBC's A.D. The Bible Continues.
She starred in Bafta award-winning drama Britz, which was directed by Peter Kosminsky.
In 2008, she played Muna and Jasminka in David Edgar's play Testing the Echo at Out of Joint and Tricycle Theatre. In 2009, she played the role of Aisha in Atiha Sen Gupta's play What Fatima Did at the Hampstead Theatre. Her other stage performances include roles in Burn, Chatroom, Citizenship at the National Theatre and Catch at The Royal Court.
