Star Isabella Rossellini, who was linked romantically with director David Lynch, helped her coax Lynch into his first on-screen speaking role in her feature debut Zelly and Me (1988). Lynch returned the favor by offering her the opportunity to direct two episodes of his groundbreaking series Twin Peaks (1990).
