Todd's film career began in Vermont at age 10, when he discovered his
dad's Super-8 equipment in the attic and started making movies. He
later attended Emerson College in Boston, graduating cum laude with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Film before moving to Los Angeles.
Todd's first job in L.A. was in special effects, and he has gone on to write and produce various docu-TV series for networks including NBC, Spike, Discovery, Fox, G4, TLC and History.
Todd has written five original screenplays, and co-written one. Resurrection was a Finalist in the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting Competition, and subsequently was optioned. His other scripts have placed highly in the Nicholl, as well as esteemed contests like the Austin Film Festival, American Zoetrope and Screenplay Festival. Todd's most recent script, Messiah, was a Sci-fi Finalist in the 2011 Shriekfest. Enginerds, a comedy co-written with his wife, Leila Huff Ludy, was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2011 StoryPros Screenplay Competition.
These successes have led to production companies hiring Todd as a screenwriter. He adapted Eddie Would Go, Stuart Holmes Coleman's biography of surfing legend Eddie Aikau, for Your Half Pictures (Steel City). He also adapted Ramsey Campbell's haunted house novel Nazareth Hill for Smith Entertainment, and doctored the horror screenplay Delivery for Vacant Films.
Todd christened his own production company, Kino-Fist, by writing, producing and directing the short film, The Bottle. It was a Short Film Semifinalist in the Houston Worldfest. He also directed the pilot webisode of Bushwacked for Famous Soup.
