His writing credits include; Brides Of Christ, Bordertown, The Leaving of Liverpool, and the mini-series My Brother Jack (all with Sue Smith). He has written many comedy sketches for television, Six Pack, and many shows for Crawford productions. He has won six Awgie awards, and two Logies. In 2005 John was awarded the Hector Crawford Award for Significant Contribution to the craft via a body of Script Editing work as well as the Awgie Award for Best Television Series for his work on Episode 2 of RAN.
John wrote and directed the short films He. She. It. and Cool White. Recent credits include being Script Producer and Writer on My Place II, script editing the series Australia on Trial for December Films and Essential Viewing, writing and script editing Old School (Matchbox) as well as writing for Mr & Mrs Murder.
John is currently writing feature films for the production house Fablemaze; Andrew Wiseman's Pericles Films; Blackfella Films and broadcaster Foxtel, and is adapting for television Frank Moorhouse's prize-winning Grand Days trilogy.
