For the month of February, we are going to show some love to the very people whose efforts have given us so much fun and enjoyment - the authors. I dubbed this month's challenge as All About Authors reading challenge.

Read a book by the following:
1. A Favorite Author
2. An Author that is "new" to you
3. An Author you had given up before but willing to give a second chance
4. A GoodReads Author
5. An Author born in the same year as you. If you cannot find one, one who died on that same year is also acceptable.
6. An Author whose first or last name starts with the initial of your first name
7. An Author whose first or last name starts with the initial of your last name
8. A male Author
9. A female Author
10. With more than one Author (anthologies included).

Yikes! I'm in. Sounds fun and scary. How do you find an author born the same year as you? Is there a one year grace or anything? And how do you find out a GoodReads Author?

I was wonderig the same thing..

I am in. Think I am going to have to do a little research to come up with my list though. I will post soon.

Ooooh hmmm I will have to do some research but this should be interesting. I have some books that have some paranormal elements but I am not sure how much romance. Would these still apply?

Examples:
Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke (could count as a favorite author or a Goodreads author.)

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (could count as new to me author)

I need to look at my TBR shelf and see what else may qualify for any of these. :) I may have more questions.

To find authors who were born the same year as you, you can use fantasticfiction.com. Click on the year underneath an author's name and it will take you to the list of authors born on that year. You can go up or down to find the right year for yourself.

To find GoodReads authors in your TBR shelf, any author that has an asterisk after their name is a GR author.

Number five seems a bit tricky!

The books don't have to be "romance". All that is needed is a little paranormal element, so those books should be good.

The only author who i know that was born in the same year as me isCecelia Ahern, but i don't know if any her books could be classed as pnr

Thanks, Yz! My bf bought me those books (Inkdeath for Christmas and Percy Jackson yesterday) I want to read them so he will know how much I appreciate it. Plus I want to read Percy before seeing the movie. Even though I will get mad if they "mess everything up" LOL
I have meaning to read Inkdeath for SOOO LONG but I didn't have it yet and it is not on Kindle! It is so big and a heavy and expensive book. I am glad I have it so I can start reading!

I need to work on my list and post it soon.

Is there any author born in 1974? I've been looking for awhile now and can't find one. I've found every year except that. LOL I read mostly authors who are still alive so the death option is out for me. If there isn't, can I do 1973 or 1975?

Yz, can we use the same author for different categories, or do we have to read 10 different authors since it is an author challenge?

For example, I want to read the Gardella Vamp series, so the first 3 books could fit in 3 categories for me for Colleen Gleason--new, female & goodreads author.
