I gotta say, the first story was fantastic. I can't get enough of Greg Capullo doing Batman art... But this book really brought the crossover genre back to the early days in comics, like when Superman met Spidey or Batman met Hulk, in which there was no giant explosion in the multiverse or anything, they just played it off like they've always lived in the same world and they're just now running into eachother. In fact, the rest of these play off this way as well and I love it! That's right, the cover story is the main show, but the back features a handful of other crossovers.

This is the first of two Batman/Deadpool books, the Marvel-owned one. Next, is the DC-owned one, with the title story by Grant Morrison.

Next up, we have Wonder Woman/ Captain America. This is good stuff and you can tell the writer had a lot more he wanted to tell with this universe and I wouldn't be opposed to hearing more. I will say, though, there's no way Wonder Woman would have stopped Cap from doing that. It felt really out of character, but I guess one could argue this is an alternate universe, so it's not too crazy.

Then we get a cute Krypto/Jeff the Shark story the kids will love, but it did feel a tad out of place.

Green Lantern and Rocket Raccoon had me pretty hyped, but they played it off for laughs, which I wasn't expecting, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped. The artwork wasn't my favorite, either. It did feature my favorite Lantern, Hal Jordan, however.

Green Arrow and Daredevil was a lot of fun, definitely a highlight from this book.

Wolverine and Batman: the Dark Knight Returns? Sounds wicked cool when you pitch it, but wait until you see the artwork... But that's all I'll say on that story.

Lastly, a return to the Amalgam Universe with "Logo", an...amalgam of Logan (Wolverine) and Lobo. It was a nice throwback to the 90s and the art was great.

Overall, a (mostly) great collection of the first wave of a return to the crossover days of DC and Marvel (I know that was a mouthful).

Highly recommended.

Yes I did buy this as a silly little treat. Yes I am deciding to record this on my Goodreads as a book towards my end-of-the-year goal. Let me have this

The main Deadpool/Batman story read kinda like fanfic lmao I just feel like I've seen this basic story arc and heard these jokes before. The storytelling is a little clunky and dialogue is fanservice-y but forgettable. It's got some fun moments but overall it's pretty mediocre

Captain America/Wonder Woman has an interesting premise and lovely art. Jeff/Krypto is cute fluff. Idk wtf Miller is doing in Wolverine/Batman

My very obvious DD bias is showing but I really liked Daredevil/Green Arrow lmao. The art is really dynamic and their dialogue had me grinning ear to ear. They do go overboard with the quipping but I love slop so I did foam at the mouth and absolutely eat it up I'm not sorry

Deadpool/Batman #1 is uneven but absolutely worth the ride. My scores bounced anywhere from a 1 to a 5, landing around a 3.5 overall. Some shorts fell flat, but the thrill of seeing Marvel and DC collide again — plus a couple of genuine standouts — made it a fun read.

Captain America & Wonder Woman is the runaway highlight. Green Arrow & Daredevil was great fun too, even if I wanted more of it. Lobo was a blast — I’d happily take a full series of that chaos.

The main Deadpool/Batman story is solid but not exceptional. Same with Rocket & Green Lantern. And I really didn’t care for the Old Man Logan / Dark Knight piece.

My biggest takeaway? These stories need more room to breathe. Give these creative teams a mini-series or even a proper arc, and I think the results could be something special. As uneven as this anthology is, it’s still a joy to see the Big Two share pages again — and with more DC/Marvel team-ups coming in November, there’s plenty of reason to stay excited.

Overall? I recommend it. And the variant covers are straight 🔥.

Decent. Some cool stories like Wonder Woman/Cap. The daredevil/green arrow was okay. Jeff the Shark and Kryto was cute. Main story had funny bits. Overall decent.

Peeps, I fear that I didn’t like this… The overall problem is the fact that the main storyline has to do all of the heavy lifting due to its comparative length to the rest, and it really struggles to bridge the gap between decent and good.

Deadpool Batman 3/5
A lighthearted crossover that puts two very opposing personalities together both as comrades and opponents. Harmless fun with nice art and a fast paced story, but nothing special.

Captain America Wonder Woman 2/5
Minus points for the fact that they chose to add Hitler into the narrative. It’s not my personal cup of tea when real people are added into comics. It is preachy dialogue more than a proper storyline, however, the pairing works well, and Dodson’s art looks fantastic as always.

Krypto Jeff 3/5
Absolutely adorable.

Daredevil Green Arrow 2.5/5
Nothing more than an exchange of first meeting dialogue that ends on the pair open to the opportunity of getting to know each other. It’s a decent dynamic that shows potential, however, nothing interesting is explored past surface level interaction.

Green Lantern Guardians of the Galaxy 3/5
One of the more goofy entires that embraces the silly and ends on a nice parody moment.

Wolverine Batman 1/5
What was that? There’s absolutely no storyline, nor is there anything pleasing or aesthetic to look at. A complete waste of this duo’s potential

Logo 2.5/5
Again, this is not a story. It’s a cool concept with a wonderful design for the character, but what does it really offer in terms of substance?

A huge shame as I wanted to love this crossover. Perhaps my expectations were simply too high after such a long wait. Here’s hoping that the DC side has more to offer.

I was excited about this and I want DC/Marvel crossovers but the main story was a little disappointing. It had Deadpool meet Bruce Waybe, Gordon, Joker, and Batman but it felt short and not what I hoped. Part of that may be I am burned out on Joker.

The extra stories were fun. Cap and Wonder Woman. Jeff the Shark, who I am not familiar with meeting Krypro.

Green Arrow and Daredevil meet fighting The Hand and The League of Shadows was a nice crossover. Rocket Racoon getting a Green Lantern ring was funny.

overall not bad but going off the main story it just didn't quite hit for me.

Was hyped for this but it ended up being horrible, like ya Batman beats Deadpool, Wolverine, etc. Tell us something we don’t know, just a super bland story sadly but gets minor points for having some good references and parodies.

The first crossover between Marvel and DC in over a couple of decades! Since this is an anthology comic, each story has to be judged on a case-by-case basis.

Deadpool/Batman - The Dead of Knight

Just such a random team-up for a return of crossovers between the two companies, but this story was a bit of fun. While not a masterpiece by any standard, this story was smartly written by Zeb Wells. Deadpool is hired by Joker to kidnap Batman for his next scheme against Gotham. The story does a nice job of showing how competent both Batman and Deadpool are in this situation, and Deadpool saving Gotham by blowing up the explosives himself is a good use of his powers. Good story overall, and a nice return of crossovers.

★★★★

Wonder Woman/Captain America - The Gun and the Sword

This story caused a lot of controversy even before the comic was published, mainly because it showed Wonder Woman stopping Captain America from killing Hitler. I questioned that creative decision when it hit the internet. But, reading the story itself, it's not as bad as it could've been. Both Wonder Woman and Captain America are perfectly in character, but I still question using the "don't kill the villain, we have to be better than him" trope with Hitler in the story. Especially in today's day and age, where his ideology inspires a generation of bigots, using him in this story just feels too real. I think it would've been better if they replaced Hitler with Red Skull in this instance because the rest of the story is actually pretty fun. Taking place in an amalgam universe where both Marvel and DC events happen simultaneously. I will say this, maintaining the historical accuracy of Hitler killing himself showcases just how cowardly he, and by extension, his ideology, truly is.

★★★½

Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto - Catch

Told mostly without any dialogue, this was a cute little story about Jeff and Krypto playing together in front of the Fortress of Solitude. Not really much to the story itself, but it didn't need to have much substance, it's just supposed to be cute, which the comic delivers.

★★★

Daredevil/Green Arrow - The Red and the Green

A crossover that made far too much sense the more I thought about it, and I'm kind of astonished how long it took for these characters to crossover. Having Kevin Smith write it, too, was a stroke of brilliance. Having them team up to take on the Hand and the League of Assassins was great, and I hope this story is followed up upon, because it was unfortunately kind of short.

★★★½

Rocket Raccoon/Green Lantern - Rocket Has a Green Lantern Ring Now

Just like the Jeff/Krypto crossover, there really wasn't much substance in this, since it was only two pages. But what we did get was hilarious. All the references to Green Lantern and Guardians of the Galaxy history in the background were great, and it's funny all the shenanigans both Rocket and Hal get into in this story. Wish it were longer.

★★★

Wolverine/Batman - Showdown

The worst story in this special with no merit or substance. Written by Frank Miller, and probably the worst-written version of Wolverine I've ever seen. It's a bastardized version of the character to glorify Batman for the umpteenth time, as Frank is one to do. This was literally his Spawn/Batman comic, but shorter and stupider. I do not doubt that either character could beat the other given the circumstances, but it would have to be well enough written to actually work. This is probably the only story in the special that I outright hate. Frank Miller needs to retire.

½

Enter: Logo

A bit of stupidity to end things out, but a fun kind, instead of Frank's depressing Bat boner. This thing feels straight out of the 90's, with all of its ludicrous edginess. I do love the inclusion of Thanoseid and his Helicopter.

★★★

While the titular story lived up to the hype, the rest of the stories were either just too short to be great, or just so stupid they shouldn't've even bothered. Still, I'm a sucker for this kind of crossovers, I just hope they have more substance in the future.

Overall this collection was fantastic. i didnt care much for some of the shorts at the end but found a pleasant humor in one of the Guardians of the Galaxy becoming a Green Lantern. This was the first Marvel & DC crossover in book form since 1996. And I'm pleased to say i found it very well done. The artwork in the first story involving Batman & Deadpool was exceptionally well done, and it was accompanied by great humor and beautiful artwork. Second story was a working relationship between Wonder Woman and Captain America. There was a beauty in the artwork that accompanied this story as well. Third was one of my favorites, but im not going to say what it was. Just that it was a team up I didn't know I needed. Would recommend reading if anyone enjoys a fun comic crossover. 8/10 overall only because I really didnt care for the last couple of stories. Krypto's involved in a story in here, but it felt cute and out of place. The last one was an Amalgam like they did in the 90s. It looked cool, I just didnt care about the story or their attempt at making something funny. Just wasnt for me.

Deadpool/Batman #1 is a Marvel and DC Comics crossover written by Zeb Wells, Chip Zdarsky, Kelly Thompson, Kevin Smith, Al Ewing, Frank Miller, and Ryan North, and art by Greg Capullo, Terry Dodson, Guruhiru, Adam Kubert, Dike Ruan, Frank Miller, and Ryan Stegman. It is cover dated November 2025.

Batman and Deadpool team-up to investigate a crime, Wonder Woman reminiscing on her adventures and relationship with Captain America, Krypto and Jeff the Shark play volleyball, Daredevil and Green Arrow battle The Hand, Rocket Raccon becomes a Green Lantern, Dark Knight Returns era Batman dukes it out with Old Man Logan, and an amalgam tale of Lobo and Wolverine.

These were pretty fun comics! I honestly wasn’t expecting the powerhouse comicbook publishers to be doing any crossovers anytime in the near future but here we are. The only miss in this first issue is Miller’s Dark Knight Returns/ Old Man Logan crossover. I mean, that isn’t the Old Man Logan I know and it felt like Miller’s Batman and DC bias was in full effect. Batman and Deadpool worked much better than I was expecting and the GA/DD team up was also really entertaining!

This is fun but uneven. Some of the creative teams took really inventive approaches to the crossover - like Ryans North and Stegman’s Lobo/Logan mashup - but a couple are just dashed off (looking at you Frank Miller). Not worldshaking but worth a read.

the main story was super weak. poorly written, it had desdpool in it so starting behind the eight ball to begin with anyway.

capullo's art is weaker without FCO. too bad he was a dick to him.

zdrasky dodson cap and wonder woman story was the highlight.

kubert should draw daredevil ongoing. it was outstanding. or green arrow if not dd.

The first Marvel and DC crossover in years! Deadpool Batman though? That's a choice.

It was an okay read overall and Capullo's art is good as always but it was just a quick crossover. Seeing Deadpool interact with the Joker was fun but otherwise, it felt like a nothing burger.

The crossover we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived: Deadpool/Batman! This collection features the main event of Deadpool and Batman, plus several bonus crossover stories pairing up Marvel and DC icons. Here’s a breakdown of each one:

Deadpool & Batman (Zeb Wells / Greg Capullo) Capullo’s art absolutely shines here—so many panels look incredible. The story had its moments, but at times it felt a little underwhelming. Wells didn’t always seem sure how to write Batman, and some of his reactions felt off—though maybe that was just him being perpetually annoyed at Deadpool. I wish we got more of an actual fight between them, but I loved the scenes we did get. Deadpool infected with Joker Venom was fantastic—especially the creepy permanent smile! Lots of funny bits too, though not all landed. Solid, but not perfect: 4/5.

Captain America & Wonder Woman (Chip Zdarsky / Terry & Rachel Dodson) This one was incredible. Set during WWII, Diana teaches Steve the meaning of true justice, and it plays beautifully. The Dodsons’ art pairs perfectly with Zdarsky’s writing, and the crossover of Marvel and DC worlds feels seamless here. No notes, just a fantastic story: 5/5.

Jeff & Krypto (Kelly Thompson / Gurihiru) Short, sweet, and adorable. With barely any dialogue, the two pets share a long-distance volleyball game before becoming instant friends. Gurihiru’s art nails the charm. Simple but perfect: 5/5.

Daredevil & Green Arrow (Kevin Smith / Adam Kubert) The Hand and the League of Shadows invade New York, forcing Daredevil and Green Arrow to team up. Their chemistry is fantastic—the banter is witty, the action sharp, and Kubert’s art elevates everything. Count Vertigo nearly takes Daredevil out, but Arrow’s classic boxing-glove arrow saves the day. A pitch-perfect short: 5/5.

Rocket Raccoon & the Green Lantern Corps (Al Ewing / Dike Ruan) Exactly as chaotic as you’d hope. Rocket’s take on the Green Lantern Oath is one of the funniest moments in the entire book. A short story, but the ending lands hard—I’d love to see it expanded. 5/5.

Batman & Wolverine (Frank Miller) Unfortunately, the weakest of the collection. Miller’s art feels rough and outdated, and the story doesn’t bring much to the table. Disappointing all around: 1/5.

Logo (Logan + Lobo Amalgam) (Ryan North / Ryan Stegman) A brilliant callback to the old Amalgam days. Logo is an inspired mash-up, and the claw design is genius. North and Stegman clearly had fun with this, and it shows. I’d love to see more of these new Amalgam characters in future issues. 5/5.

Final Thoughts Overall, this was a fantastic celebration of Marvel and DC coming together, with more hits than misses. The variety of stories really showcases the fun of crossovers, and knowing another issue is coming in November has me beyond excited

This book was an impulse buy one day at my LCS. I did not realize that it was actually a book of multiple stories with different artists, inkers, & writers. The same letterer was used in most stories (à la Virtual Calligraphy). Also did not know that Kevin Smith wrote a story about Green Arrow and Daredevil. If you've ever binge watched Arrow with Stephen Amell (I have), it's an interesting contrast with the shows portrayal of the character. My only gripes were simple art in one story and the characters in it Deadpool Batman story seemed too young. But maybe I'm too old. Get off my lawn?
Anyway, it seems like the writers and pencilers were having fun, perhaps writing stories they knew would be fun but may not stand up in a single issue comic. And I mean this in the best of ways. As evidenced by one story about Jeff the Shark and Crypto (Supes' cousin's dog?) managed to tell a story with nearly zero dialogue. I enjoyed that much more than I would have predicted. Fine example of sequential art.

ডিসির Guardian of the Universe এবং মার্ভেলের Guardian of the Galaxy-এর চুক্তি অনুসারে হ্যাল জর্ডানের গ্রিন ল্যান্টার্ন রিং এখন পড়ছে রকেট রেকুন। এটিও ছিল আরেকটি মজার পাঠ।

ফ্র্যাঙ্ক মিলারের The Dark Knight Returns Batman ও Old Man Logan-এর দ্বৈরথ “Showdown” একেবারেই ভালো লাগেনি।

This is a reimagining of DC and Marvel being in the same world together. It is 64 pages long and has 4/5 different stories featuring Superheroes from DC and Marvel.

The main story has Deadpool visiting Gotham City to 'take care' of Batman. It was fun and enjoyable with lots of humourous dialogues.

The one featuring Krypto and Jeff the Shark was cool as well.

My favourite was the one featuring Wonder Woman and Captain America. Fabulous story with a cool ending with lots of cameos and comic history moments.
However the other stories (Including Frank Millers old man Logan and Dark Knight) were not good and kind of let the book and premise down.

This is such a top tier crossover and just good vibes all around! Unfortunately Frank Miller’s story single handedly kills all the good vibes but ignoring that this was so fun! Don’t worry too much about why the worlds are crossing over or how, it’s a big multiverse and just slip in and have fun! I was pleasantly surprised by how many stories this included as well, and I find it very interesting they are trying their hand again at amalgam with that last story.

But easily the best story of the bunch is the one that takes the title, Deadpool and batman. It’s such an interesting little story while being absolutely hilarious. The issue starts with Bruce Wayne doing a bit of detective work, seeing all the signs that joker is making moves…only for Deadpool to come crashing through his window! He actually isn’t here to hurt Bruce, but is seeing if he is hiring. You see, Deadpool is on Gotham on a job, and he likes to pickup side gigs when he can. And what billionaire doesn’t need someone taken off the board? Bruce…Bruce is the billionaire that doesn’t need that, lol. It’s probably best that deapdool gets back to his main job anyway, and with that giant “bat call” in the sky there should be no issue tracking down and killing the batman. Sigh…seems like Bruce is going to have to suit up and head out again. I find it hilarious that Deadpool huffed his way up the side of GCPD to find Gordon up on the roof waiting for batman. Only for batman to swoop in and immediately start beating Deadpool down. Throughout the entire fight Deadpool doesn’t get one hit or even a shot off before batman has him tied up and Deadpool calling for a tie because they are too “evenly matched,” lmao. Gordon brings back Batman’s attention for the reason he turned on the signal, the joker, he has sent them a message about unleashing tons of joker venom on the city of batman doesn’t find him first. Batman knows he’s not bluffing because joker got all the materials he needed a few days ago, but then Deadpool pipes up…and mentions that day was a full moon, and joker could be working in tune with the tides when the coastal caves open up. Curious that would be his first thought, but looking at a map that is entirely possible. There is even one near the pier and boardwalk that Deadpool would love to help out and search for them, but then it clicks they can use a madman to catch a madman! Sigh…they don’t have many options so Batman agrees. Unfortunately for Wade, more so for batman tbh, there is no Robin right now so the Batmobile is a one seater. Which means cram in. But it seems this was all according to Wade’s plan as he didn’t want to beat batman…just get him in an enclosed space so he can send off a gas grenade to knock batman out! Even though batman was able to slam Deadpool’s head into the side window, it wasn’t enough to shatter it before he went out, and based on the dents we find later in the Batmobile…Wade doesn’t know how to drive stick. Batman wakes up to find himself tied up in a broken down pirate themed amusement park ride with the joker and Deadpool standing side by side. Seems that joker employed the help of Klarion to find himself an “accountabilibuddy” to aid him in his schemes, he basically found someone as crazy as him to get the job done, and used reverse flash and the cosmic treadmill to rip Wade from his universe. But batman immediately gets to work at pinning the two against each other, well really…Joker against Deadpool. Immediately calling Deadpool crazier and how he drove batman crazy in less than an hour compared to the lifetime joker has tried. In all honesty, there’s something a lot more to Wade as well, he may be a villain finally worthy of his obsession. And hilariously when a peeved off joker took Wade off to the side to try and get him to leave, Wade said a very similar thing. He even proposed sharing batman as a nemesis. That broke joker and he then reached out his hand to shake Wade’s and delivered an electro shock/joker venom injection into Deadpool! The healing factor will eventually clean it up, but seeing Deadpool with a giant smile on his broken face, is pretty terrifying. But he is still able to think through the venom, knock joker down and turn on him. Batman freed himself before Deadpool could, but now it’s time to work together. As the stage is set for the final confrontation Joker has setup the perfect death trap for batman. Either the venom will be deployed and the city will die, or batman can hit the trigger to stop it and die himself in a grueling explosion! Instead Deadpool runs ahead and makes a crack about wanting to see one of his young boys do it instead, right as he hits the trigger to disable the joker venom and blows up! Hahahaha, yeah joker wasn’t expecting that and Wade was completely fine. Batman shoved a tied up joker in his trunk and left Wade with a get out of here pass for saving the city. But Wade has something else in mind, what could it hurt to take a look around before getting out of here, right? Hahaha, can’t wait to see that continue on the DC side.

Surprisingly the rest of this issue includes 5 more stories! I think all of these are pretty solid, except for Miller’s lol. But the most daring is definitely the captain America and Wonder Woman crossover. There is no effort here to explain why they are crossed over, because why should they need to? Zdarsky decides to implement the idea that dc and Maribel have always existed in the same universe and I love that! So the best place to start would be when Diana and Steve first met…at Steve’s lowest, in WW2 when he fought hard enough and caught hitler cowering in his bunker, ready to blow his head clean off. I don’t blame Steve at all for wanting to do that, but Diana came to remind him that they are not executioners and instead he should have his trial so the people can see Justice served. This story is actually told from the POV of Steve from the future remembering back to this time and the times afterward that followed as he was driven into the ice and later found, Diana being one of the first people he saw when he woke back up in the world. When they stood by side through the great battles, such as against Galactus, or the great losses, such as supergirls death in crisis. They continued to serve alongside each other to help make each other better, and sometimes that role even reversed when Diana almost killed Maxwell Lord but Steve was there to stop her. Of course Steve dropped the gun and Hitler ended up killing himself anyway, but what stands is that these two have stood throughout time saving each other to bring monsters to Justice. Even as Steve breathes his last breath at some ridiculous giant battle at the end of the infiniverse, Diana is there to pick up his shield and deliver Justice. Hahahaha, what a fantastic story about these two working hand in hand throughout the years.

The next story can only be described as the most adorable thing ever, as Krypto and Jeff accidentally cross paths when Krypto knocks his ball away too far and Jeff jumps out at the perfect time to knock it back. Immediately starting the most adorable game of volleyball ever: that is until Kara and Kate called for them to come home for dinner. The two ended with an awesome high five and went about their ways.

Kevin Smith returns for a pretty solid crossover between Daredevil and a green arrow. Where Daredevil ends up with an altercation with the league of shadows and green arrow ends up with an altercation with the hand only for the two of them to accidentally run into each other and immediately end up working together. Daredevil confused GA for Hawkeye at first, and GA realized that New Yorkers love their irony so daredevil is probably on the side of the angels. Daredevil figured the renaissance fair isn’t until next month, so friar tuck here must be a good guy. Either way, they have a lot of assassin heads to bash together. But the fight really comes to a head when count vertigo steps in and completely destroys all of daredevil’s senses! Forcing Ollie to cobble together a non lethal solution to destroy vertigo’s tech. Perfectly taking Jack Murdock’s boxing glove and stapling it to an arrow right I to Vertigo’s face/ the two immediately leave the assassins to the cops and walk off to grab a drink and share stories.

The next is only two pages but fits to much comedy gold into it as the guardians of OA and the Guardians of the galaxy decide to have a cultural exchange. The green lanterns sending Hal over to the guardians of the galaxy for a time, and the guardians of the galaxy sending rocket raccoon over to the lanterns, allowing rocket to get his own green lantern ring in the process. It immediately goes bad when day one Rocket raccoon shoots sinestro in the face, and then by dah two he is pulling a hard traveling hero and hanging out with Ollie, even gambling away his green lantern ring before teaming up with Ollie to rob the casino as it’s owned by the mob, as one does. Day three the guardians of OA call for them to come get rocket, and the guardians of the galaxy couldn’t agree more, turns out Hal and his magnetic tendencies towards cosmic hand jewelry has been really bad…they are also wondering what a parallax is, lol.

They genuinely should of given the three pages Miller had to Ewing to expand out the lantern/guardians story from it’s too pages, as three mages of terrible art old man Logan and dark knight rises batman grunting at each other in shadows I’d the worst thing I’ve read for a long time.

But the final story gives me a bit more hope as they are bribing back amalgam! Immediately introducing Logo, hilarious name that puts thoughts of brand logos in my head, it’s a combo of Lobo and wolverine, and we immediately find him ripping the brains out of what I think is a Kobra and ultron combo. He leaves the small asteroid he is on by blowing up the Thanos Eid copter and waiting until the next day he rebuilds himself so he can collect the bounty again, lol. I love the “made in Canada” sticker on Logo’s bike and the fact his chains come out of his hands like claws. Prey great design and I hope they do some more of this.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect with this one, but it was a pretty fun ride.

The main story is simple: Deadpool shows up at Wayne Manor with a contract to kill Batman. Bruce, of course, plays dumb, and DP bails when the Bat-Signal lights up. Batman tracks him down and finds him hassling Commissioner Gordon. But that’s just the side noise. Batman’s real focus is chasing the Joker, and Deadpool gets dragged along for the ride.

I wish it had been longer, maybe with a real head-to-head between the two, but it still leans into the running theme that anyone stepping into Gotham ends up in Batman’s shadow.

The book also sprinkles in a bunch of side stories that may or may not tie into earlier Marvel/DC crossover worlds. There’s Wonder Woman sharing decades of friendship with Captain America, a wild Amalgam-style one-off with “Logo” (Wolverine + Lobo) hunting a bounty, Krypto and Jeff the Landshark just playing around, some cosmic bits with the Guardians, a slick Daredevil/Green Arrow segment, and even Frank Miller dropping in his worst for the celebration.

You can tell the creators had fun with it, and that’s the best part. It feels like a celebration. I hope DC and Marvel keep teaming up like this.

This was SO fun. I loved all the crossovers. I loved the jokes and the way the character meshed together.
Batman and Deadpool worked so well together. I loved all the jokes and the way Deadpool just would not shut up. It was too good.
I liked the Cap and Wonder Woman story too. It didn’t go the way I thought it would. I would have loved to have gotten more about their time together and the fight they were caught in.
I adored the Krypto and Jeff the Land Shark story. It was just fricken adorable. Like cmon?!? SO cute!
I could go on and on and get way more detailed, but overall, it was just a really fun read and cool experience to see Marvel and DC crossover!

Marvel & DC reunited again!

This comic book features a main story with Deadpool and Batman, but also includes several other short stories too making crossover with other characters of Marvel and DC. This comic book is published by Marvel Comics (it will be a second issue but published by DC Comics).

DEADPOOL/BATMAN

”The Dead of Knight”

Creative Team

Writer: Zeb Wells
Illustrator: Greg Capullo
Inker: Tim Townsend
Rating: *****

In this main story, The Merc with a Mouth meets The Dark Knight, where he’s hired to kill Batman, but Deadpool didn’t grasp how hard that can be. He first meets Bruce Wayne in his manor without realizing Bruce’s secret identity. In the middle of their conversation, the Bat-Signal is activated and both leaves to reach the GCPD Headquarters where Commisioner James Gordon is awaiting to inform Batman about The Joker and his menace of releasing Joker Venom in a mass quantity over Gotham City (Batman already deduced that it was being mass produced Joker Venom due a series of robberies of key elements to make the said formula). There, Deadpool and Batman interchange some hits and finally Deadpool agrees to assist Batman in finding the whereabouts of The Joker.
I can’t detail any further to avoid spoiling the fun of the rest of the story but I can assure that this tale is truly great, superbly written and awesomely drawn. Truly a priceless crossover of two of the most popular characters of the two major comic book companies.

CAPTAIN AMERICA/WONDER WOMAN

”The Gun & the Sword”

Creative Team

Writer: Chip Zdarsky
Illustrator: Terry Dodson
Inker: Rachel Dodson
Rating: *****

Captain America and Wonder Woman fight side-by-side in an epic fast-pacing multiverse tale where they meet again and again.

JEFF/KRYPTO

”Catch”

Creative Team

Writer: Kelly Thompson
Illustrator & Inker: Gurihiru
Rating: ***

A character that I am not familiar with honesly, named Jeff, the Land Shark (which is a baby shark with feet) meets Krypto, the Super-Dog, and they play together.

DAREDEVIL/GREEN ARROW

”The Red and the Green”

Creative Team

Writer: Kevin Smith
Illustrator: Adam Kubert
Inker: Frank Martin
Rating: *****

Daredevil receives the visit of Green Arrow, who is following a group of the League of Shadows from Star City, and now they are uniting forces in Hell’s Kitchen with the Hand. Therefore, the Man without Fear and the Emerald Archer fast enough decided to join forces too to battle the combined might of those criminal groups, but there is a guest villain too.

ROCKET RACOON/GREEN LANTERN (HAL JORDAN)

”Rocket Racoon has a Green Lantern Ring now”

Creative Team

Writer: Al Ewin
Illustrator: Dike Ruan
Inker: Moreno Dinisio
Rating: *****

The Galactic Council sends the Guardians of the Galaxy to a multiverse meeting with the Guardians of OA along their agents the Green Lantern Corps to make a peaceful event and proposing an exchange of representatives, where Rocket Racoon joins the GL Corps using the Hal Jordan’s Power Ring, while Hal is sent to temporarily join the Guardians of the Galaxy. This story is hilarious at best.

OLD MAN LOGAN/DARK KNIGHT RETURNS’ BATMAN

”Showdown”

Creative Team

Writer, Illustrator & Inker: Frank Miller
Rating: ***

A demented clash between Old Man Logan with the version of Batman from The Dark Knight Returns.

LOGO (AN AMALGAM VERSION OF LOBO & WOLVERINE

”Enter: Logo!”

Creative Team

Writer: Ryan North
Illustrator & Inker: Ryan Stegman
Rating: ****

This is a story set in the Amalgam Universe (which is a fusion of DC & Marvel) where Logo (a merge of Logo and Wolverine) where he’s a bounty hunter and searching for Kultron (a merge of Ultron and a robot from Kobra), later he destroys the helicopter of Thanoseid (a marge of Thanos and Darkseid) and claims that very likely his next bounty could be Super-Soldier (a merge of Superman and Captain America)

This is the first appearance of Logo, introducing the Amalgam character here.

The first Marvel-DC crossover in about two decades and what do you get? You get mostly silly but fun fan fiction.

The first story, the titular Deadpool/Batman crossover, is dominated by Deadpool’s goofiness. Greg Capullo’s artwork is solid, especially early on, but the ultimate writing of the story plays it a bit safer than they needed to. I might’ve leaned harder into Batman’s seriousness and especially leaned hard into Deadpool’s fourth wall-breaking. I don’t know if the ending of this story is something Grant Morrison will pick up and run with in the upcoming “Batman/Deadpool.”

The Wonder Woman/Captain America story is my favorite, one that honors its characters and their respective histories. It’s a gift for fans of classic comics and it’s heartfelt.

The Krypto/Jeff crossover is shamelessly adorable.

The Green Lantern/Rocket Raccoon crossover is shamelessly over-the-top.

The DKR Batman/Old Man Logan crossover is a nice reminder that Frank Miller is still insane.

The Daredevil/Green Arrow crossover is…fine, it’s just fine.

And finally at the end we have “Logo” which is basically a super-meta crossover blender.
