Old milepost

This milepost/mileplate has been cleared of vegetation, surrounded by weed suppressant gravel and repainted by a Milestone Society member. It is one of ten remaining by the roadside on the 13 miles between Tighnabruaich and Otter Ferry. In the Cowal District Road Trustees document of 1888 these posts were to cost £12 each.
