St James' Way
St James' Way is a 66 mile long distance path from Reading to Southampton. The walk runs from the ruins of Reading Abbey (south of St James' Church) to God's House Tower.
The route was created by the Confraternity of St James to honour St James and pilgrims that went to Santiago in Spain from England, and passes Silchester Roman Fort, Bramley medieval wall paintings and Winchester cathedral.
Those wishing to use the route for pilgrimage will need to use the Pilgrims' Trail when they reach Winchester towards Portsmouth, as no ferries go from Southampton.
