SH9068 : Tree below Moel Unben

taken 3 years ago, 3 km from Llangernyw, Conwy, Wales

Tree below Moel Unben
Tree below Moel Unben
A somewhat besieged tree, whose close neighbour has been felled and which has lost one of its original two trunks, also to the chainsaw, but which is hanging in there despite the odds against it. The background woodland seems to be mostly Oak and Sycamore, with some Holly, Ash and Willow and understory of various shrubs. The farmland is down to sheep on these slopes, all of which have been brought down off the moorland above by mid-November (and in this view were keeping out of shot).
