Longhorn cattle
Longhorn cattle
The English longhorn breed of cattle was once widespread and often featured in 18th century paintings of the English country parks of the aristocrats. The breed was a milk producer, but after Robert Bakewell tried to improved the cattle as meat producers through breeding this had a negative impact on the breed as milk producers, as a result they fell from favour and consequently the breed is rarely seen today.
