Cosham bus terminus – 1971
Portsmouth Corporation bus 249 on service 2 to South Parade Pier.
Overall advertising liveries were something of a novelty at that time, and in my view this is a particularly unsuccessful one. It tends to act as camouflage and in particular makes the destination display difficult to pick out. It is advertising the Tricorn shopping centre, once voted the ugliest building in Britain Link.
The cast iron passenger shelter dates from the tramway period (although moved from its original position), but sadly has not survived modernisation of the bus terminal Link .
This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
