NM2622 : Climbing up from Iona's west coast
taken 10 years ago, near to Baile Mòr, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

Climbing up from Iona's west coast
Away from the crowds who flock to the Abbey, Iona has a wild west coast, marred only by a few outcrops of humanity's hardware. Behind the group lies a fine beach backed by machair (spoilt a little by the intrusion of that most bizarre of land uses amid such scenery, a golf course). Offshore a maze of skerries, and beyond them the islands of Dutchman's Cap and Lunga in the Treshnish chain. Yet further out to sea one can just make out the bigger island of Coll.
