Extension Work at Crumpsall Tram Station (February 2018)
A significant upgrade to the Crumpsall tram stop has been taking place since August 2017. This involves laying new (extra) track to allow the proposed Trafford Park line services to turn around. The stop will have a larger platform for Manchester-bound services. The Trafford Park line is currently under construction and is scheduled to begin operating in 2020.
Crumpsall Metrolink Station/Stop

Crumpsall Metrolink Station is on the original (Manchester to Bury) Line which was taken over by Metrolink in 1992; it is located at the corner of Crumpsall Lane and Station Road, in an approximately north-south cutting 3 to 4 metres below the surrounding area. All of the original (British Rail) station buildings had been removed by the start of the new millennium. It is planned that the stop will form the northern terminus of the extension to the Trafford Centre which is scheduled to become operational by 2020.
