Arthur Street, Nottingham
A view from Waverley Street, marked by the presence of tram rails, provides a glimpse of Nottingham High School's Infants' Department premises, with its gates on Arthur Street. Prior to this it hosted Waverley House School, an independent PNEU-orientated preparatory day school for boys and girls of between 3-11 yrs. Parents’ National Education Union schools arose from the work and teachings of the Welsh liberal educator Charlotte Mason (1842-1923). Mason taught at the Bishop Otter Teacher Training College in Chichester and subsequently Parents' Educational Union schools (later known as PNEU schools) arose from her particular educational philosophy. The site was purchased by the High School in 2008 and by 2013 it had become a co-educational establishment known as the Nottingham High Infant and Junior School.
