Old wells at Ardmore :: NS3168
There are two old wells, one of them 25m NNE of the other, at the foot of the former sea cliffs on the NW side of the Hill of Ardmore. "General Geils, who acquired the estate in the end of last century, built several wells ... and these remain to this day" [page 295 of "The Annals of Garelochside" (1897) by W C Maughan].
