Walmer Lifeboat
Walmer Lifeboat
Rother-class lifeboat “RNLB The Hampshire Rose” standing high on a slipway to gain enough speed to travel over the pebbled beach below the Lifeboat Station at Walmer.

Hampshire Rose entered service in 1975 and was Walmer’s last all-weather lifeboat, being retired in May 1990; the station is now served by an Atlantic 85-class lifeboat, “RNLB Donald Mclauchlan” (B-808), and a D-class (IB1) “RNLB Douggie Rodbard” (D-663) LinkExternal link Wikipedia.
