Metrolink Bombardier M5000 tram number 3045, standing at the Ashton-Under-Lyne terminus of the Metrolink east Manchester route.

Phase 3b of the Metrolink East Manchester Extension opened between Droylsden and Ashton–Under-Lyne on Wednesday, 9 October 2013. The new extension added a further 2.1 miles and 4 new stops to the route.

The terminus of the East Manchester Route is on the south side of Wellington Road, just to the west of Oldham Road at Ashton-Under-Lyne. It has an island platform with ramps at both ends to ground/track level. This final stop on the line also forms an interchange with Ashton bus station and is in close proximity to Ashton rail station.
