Lantern for Sgeir Buidhe Light
Lantern for Sgeir Buidhe Light
When, after local protest, the light marking Sgeir Buidhe reef off Port Appin was removed in 1991 the lantern was placed here at a road junction. and now provides useful tourist information.
The lantern of cast iron and bronze construction and light was erected under the direction of David A. Stevenson of the famous Stevenson family in 1901. He was a cousin of Robert Louis Stevenson.
