How T.J. Newman Became A Bestselling Author

Behind every great story of business success there is one person?one supporter, mentor, investor or even customer?without whom that success story might not exist. Bestselling author T.J. Newman has Shane Salerno. T.J. was working as a flight attendant when she got the idea for her first book, Falling. She started writing the story on airplane napkins while her passengers slept. Eventually, she had completed a full novel: an action-packed thriller about a pilot who is being blackmailed to crash his plane. But to publish this story, T.J. needed an agent. And so she sent query letter after query letter. Ultimately, 41 agents said no. That's 41 rejection letters. And so, for her 42nd letter?to screenwriter Shane Salerno, whose credits include Avatar and Armageddon?T.J. did a little something different. She included a hand-written note with more than a little bit of confidence. The decision would change the course of her life.
