‘I don’t understand what’s happening or why he seems so uncertain about me and us and him and me and he and I and all of those pronouns put together.’What. The. Fuck. Just stop talking.Yeah, I don’t understand why I’m still reading this series either. I’m clearly the black sheep. Baa.Unravel Me picks up where Shatter Me left off with Juliette trying desperately to get along with the rebel resistance that saved her life. Despite being surrounded by people just like her, she’s never felt like more of an outcast. Her powers are far more dangerous than any of the others and it’s easy for them to fear the unknown. Adam is also acting differently towards her and Juliette fears that the tests he’s been undergoing to determine why he’s able to touch her means their relationship will never be the same.So my biggest issue with this book is lack of overall development in each and every part of this story. The storyline itself, the characters, etc. Nothing made progress. I think Juliette actually did some backtracking back to the weakling she was when she was alone in her cell. Not having the connection with Adam caused her to become this whiny, sniveling character that drove me absolutely batty. She spent a tremendous amount of time keeping secrets from everyone that obviously would have helped the situation the resistance found themselves in. It was ridiculous. The love triangle continued, of course, and that was of course the sole focus of Unravel Me even when there were far greater concerns that could have been delved into. I’m sure if you’re into a more romance focused story then this will be your thing but if you’re going to slap a dystopian genre tag on a book I’m going to expect some detailed exploration into the world-building. The drama and angst was great and Juliette was so beyond ridiculous that she stopped caring completely for her future because she was determined to ‘live in the moment’.‘His right hand slides up my spine and tugs on the zipper holding my suit together until its halfway down my back and I don’t care. I have 17 years to make up for and I want to feel everything. I’m not interested in waiting around and risking the who-knows and the what-ifs and the huge regrets.’hahaha Just remember to wear a condom! So by this point I’m obviously in for the long haul so I will be picking up Ignite Me. I don’t have much hope for Juliette making a noble sacrifice and putting her out of my misery but I do retain hope that the dystopian society will be explored in more detail considering this is the final installment. My hopes are not high though.

Here we can see an improvement in all possible aspects: drama, character development, action, romance, and plot advancement.

Shatter Me felt very introductory to me, but here we move forward with more decisive and faster steps; a little less than half did feel a bit repetitive, but after Juliette starts to come out of Point Omega, things get better, so much so that it makes you forget how boring or repetitive it was before that. This was also the reason why I didn't give it five stars.

Tahereh leaves us wanting to know what will happen next, and as the story progresses, it seems to improve, so Ignite Me promises to be much better.

In this book, we can also see a side of Warner that we hadn't seen before, and it's impossible not to fall in love despite the fact that in real life...?.

Lastly, I love Kenji and I still say that the lack of commas and some errors in the writing slightly ruin the experience, but this is something directed towards the publisher. (Translated from Spanish)

I love this saga, and I love the states that the protagonist goes through. It is written in a way that is very easy to read; I love that chapters are intertwined between Warner and Juliet because it makes you empathize with the feelings of each one. It facilitates understanding and the way they act. This book has a very impactful ending and leaves you anxious to read the next book. I never tire of this story; it is very unique and has ended on a very interesting point with a great revelation that I need to delve into more. (Translated from Spanish)

The declarations of love in this book will have the reader's hearts ripped open. This book is about self-discovery, friendships, love and boundaries. Adam, Juliette, and Warner all discover truths about their world and themselves. They are forced to look honestly into situations.

"you have to deal with who you are and you have to figure out how to live with it." is a quote that exemplifies this book

While I liked the first part and thought it was good, this second part surprised me quite a bit, showing me that it's possible for sequels to be much better.

Tahereh delivered us an agile and addictive novel, where her writing is more pleasant compared to the first book, where her style was not only strange but also confusing and tiresome at times. However, in this installment, she decides to use it less frequently and focuses on delivering us an engaging drama that we couldn't easily put down.

It's important to note that the way the author wrote this novel likely depended entirely on our protagonist and her evolution within the story. In this installment, it's clear how the protagonist ventures into working with the power she possesses and is trying to leave behind the girl who cries in the corners, which is why we notice that the text is not as doubtful or confusing. While in the first book I was specifically drawn to one of the characters, in this one everything is on the rise. Warner, our antagonist, shines even more than in the first book, making it inevitable to fall in love with this character.

It is worth mentioning that while many characters improve and grow, others lose their charm, which could annoy some readers.

This second book has an astounding growth compared to its first book, which left us wanting more of its story. In this part, drama is the main focus, encounters with our antagonists are key, and there is a load of perfect plot twists that will blow our minds while we read this story. This dystopia will completely excite you, especially since in this book the incredible enemies to lovers dynamic becomes much more prominent and we didn't see it coming. (Translated from Spanish)

Sip, yes, I know I'm arriving late to the party... I can't believe I didn't want to read this trilogy before #shameonme

"How many times are you going to apologize for being who you are?"

The drama between Juliette and Adam tires me, it drains my life, it's unbearable. Those two couldn't be in the same room because they immediately wanted to jump on each other. And okay, I understand Juliette's point, who had never been touched even by her own mother... but Adam, is everything okay at home? If anyone needed to control themselves and be rational, it was him.

"Good intentions are great, but they don't change the facts"

Kenji is undoubtedly the best part of these books. He is brilliant, hardworking, and practically carries Omega Point on his back. And, of course, I laughed so much thanks to him. I love him!

"I hear Warner laughing. I see him smiling. It’s the type of smile that completely transforms him into another person, the kind of smile that fills his eyes with stars and his lips with brightness, and I realize I’ve never seen him like this before. He looks sweet and vulnerable... human. His eyes are squinty from smiling so much, and his cheeks are pink from the cold. He has dimples. He could easily be the most beautiful thing I've seen in my life."

Am I the only one who screamed upon reading that Warner has dimples?!

"He appears in the doorway right in front of me and is exactly how I remembered. Golden hair, perfect skin, eyes too bright for their hazy emerald tone. He has a beautiful face, which I now see he inherited from his father."

The name Warner is very beautiful, and the fact that he chose to take his mother's last name is adorable. His dad... is a totally despicable being, one of the villains I've hated the most. The way he talks to Warner and the things he forces him to do, his nonexistent empathy, and his black heart.

"I returned the smile. The sun, the moon, and the stars called me and said: stop smiling, please, you're making it difficult for us to see."

This is an honorary mention for the beautiful prose of Tahereh Mafi and the poetic musings of Juliette.

"The books helped me not to lose my mind completely."

After Omega Point kidnapped Warner, my reading became happy and complete. Their interactions during the weirdest interrogations in history brought me to life. I finally got to see that version of Warner that they had been promising me, him being human. Warner knows her and sees her as she really is. Yes, he made mistakes in the first book but now he tries to make amends. He treats her like a person he wants to know and be friends with, he asks her important questions and gives her space.

"The sky is empty and all the demons are here."

I could fill lines, paragraphs, and pages about how much I love the character of Warner. We are introduced to him as the soulless villain capable of killing innocents for pleasure, but that is false; the worst part is that he even believes the lie himself. Warner had a traumatic childhood, full of abuse, devoid of love, and grew up in a war-torn world where his father was the worst of monsters and the most powerful.

"The only thing I know is that I will never be safe if I trust another person, if I need a repeated confirmation of who I am and who I can become. I can love him, but I can't depend on him to be my backbone. I can't be myself if I need someone to hold me up constantly."

Karma is a bitch and destiny is its sister. Warner not only can touch Juliette without any effort but he can also harness her power and project it. BY THE WAY, by doing this, it's as if she fills him with energy, making him feel strong and revitalized. Ha!, I love happy endings.

"I said it. I say it. I want to be your friend. I want to be the friend that you fall desperately in love with. The one you have in your arms and in your bed and in the private world you have trapped in your head. I want to be that kind of friend."

    Chapter 7: A.BULLET.HURTS.LESS.

I knew it; a voice in my head was whispering that I would get my heart broken, but did I listen? NO. I was distrustful at first because Juliette is an expert at ruining happy moments; she loves to self-sabotage. But as I turned the pages, everything was still fine. It was the most romantic moment of life—everything was perfect! Warner is a gentleman whose only desire is to love her sincerely. She knew he was vulnerable, that she needed to protect the feelings he was giving her and AT THE WORST MOMENT, IN THE CRUELEST WAY... JULIETTE RUINED EVERYTHING BY BREAKING HIS HEART. I was so outraged, so angry, so hurt that I had to stop reading. Juliette was unnecessarily cruel and selfish.

"Warner's voice is a rope I want to cling to. I want to take it and tie it around my waist and I want him to pull me out of this paralyzed world I find myself trapped in." (Translated from Spanish)

In this second part, I am already seeing signs of the evolution that Juliette will undergo throughout the subsequent books, and it was more exciting (especially the final part because for a moment I was in shock). And well, also with this book, the balance I had between Adam and Warner tilted more in favor of the latter (it's unavoidable lol), although the one who stole most of my attention with his antics and sarcasm was Kenji, that man is unstoppable.
In short, I loved this part because it felt balanced and complete, it made me want to know more, now that Juliette has realized what she can really be and do. (Translated from Spanish)

This is the second book in the series and it was amazing. The series just keeps on getting better and better. In this book Juliette deals with learning how to live with her powers and testing what she can do.

This book is one surprise after another. Just like its title suggests, I think it did exactly that: unravel. Unraveling all the doubts I had regarding the first book, the story, and the characters.
I think in the first one, we got to know Juliette well but not so much the others, which also shows the change in this character because even though at the beginning she was lost trying to fit into this new environment, she decides to stop feeling sorry for herself, try to make friends, and help in the war that is just around the corner. From there on, we see a more determined Juliette. This helped me to experience the book with a more dynamic pace because I was already tired of it being just romantic problems and her whining.
We learn more about Omega Point, this organization against The Reestablishment and what the people there are like. We also get glimpses of how people live in general, those who are at the mercy of this corrupt government.
Adam and Warner's lives are explored more deeply, especially Warner's, which intrigued me a lot. We get to know a bit of his story, the secrets he hides, and the reasons behind his personality.
I'm glad I didn't stop reading after the first one because I really liked this one and now I want to read the next. (Translated from Spanish)

I loved this book. It's been sitting on my TBR stack for ages and I kept putting off reading it and now I can't understand why. Well, maybe I can, I've got to wait until February for the last book! I read through the book super fast the first time because I had to know what was going to happen. Then, after I finished reading, I went back and reread parts of the book at a slower pace enjoying the story and Mafi's writing. And while we're talking about her writing - - it's so unique and distinguishable. She uses these comparisons that amaze me and make me stop and think to myself just how talented she is. These books have a strong and unique voice for Juliette. I am very interested to see what she does in future endeavors and how she makes those characters stand out.

I picked up the saga again with this book. The truth is that "Destroy me" bored me, and I didn't want to continue it. But there was something that "pulled" me, a voice in my head told me to keep going. I was curious about Adam, my favorite character so far. I don't regret picking it back up; I liked this book, it kept me intrigued, and the ending really makes me eager to read the next one. I think in the next ones I will find a Juliet that is a bit more together, more present, more confident, or at least that's what I hope, and I really hope it doesn't disappoint me. While reading this book, I experienced so many feelings that in the end, I don't know if I feel happy, in love, or hopeful; I just don't know.

Starting with Warner, I believe he's the most important because I never thought I would fall in love with that monster from just one page. It had been a long time since I felt this way about a character; it was incredible how he changed my mind with just a few words. If they destroyed Juliette, they turned me to ashes.

Juliette, oh God, her power is amazing, and I love both hers and Kenji's. I adored the trio of Adam, Juliette, and Kenji.

I swear I had to take breaks from this book; it was so intense. The parts with Juliette and Adam completely killed me; they were intense, and I loved it. I wanted to keep reading and not stop, but at the same time, I couldn't. And when Warner reappeared, I only felt a flame starting to ignite. It was a small flame, but then the encounter he had with Juliette in her room turned that flame into a full-blown fire, and I didn't want it to stop; it was like a drug, and I wanted more. But everything extinguished with just one word, one name, and just like Warner, I died.

But that ending, that was what I was waiting for, and it's a Juliette full of hate and eager to create chaos. Because, of course, in this book, you realize that Warner, the monster (My love), was right about Juliette.

Maren, you were right ? I love Warner; I think I will do witchcraft to have him with me. I will let myself be manipulated by him. ? (Translated from Spanish)

I really like this saga, although I must say that this second part is not as good as the first; in fact, it falls quite short in terms of strong emotions and action. I think I expected to encounter the same amount of surprises and hooks that its predecessor had, but that did not happen. Of course, this doesn’t mean the book is bad, because it’s not; I just expected more. This time, the plot does not contain multiple situations; it mainly focuses on the war and on Juliette's romantic and control issues. I must say that I really hated this girl in this book; she basically spent her time feeling sorry for herself and whining about how life has been unfair to her for having the power to kill anyone who touches her. I understand her, but come on, get up and move on, girl! … but no, instead of deciding to improve and get out of the hole, she chooses to sink deeper and deeper, and this is truly exasperating, as this pattern repeats throughout the entire book. I may sound a bit harsh, but the character really frustrated me to no end; however, I repeat, this does not mean that the story is bad. In fact, I really enjoyed it, and I am looking forward to reading the third part, and I truly hope you all can read it as well. This is my opinion, but as I always say: read the book, judge for yourself, and leave me your opinion in a comment. You know I’m always eager to read it. (Translated from Spanish)

Wonderful does not encompass everything that this second part was; it does not do justice to how extraordinary it became. Tahereh has a way of explaining what the protagonist feels that makes you feel it too, regardless of whether her heart beats fast or slow or if she is breathless, because you feel it, you feel it, and that is part of the magic that this woman can create. Her prose is so simple that it becomes easy and quick to get used to it, and it is so beautiful that it excites you immensely.

In itself, it is a very sexy book, from any angle you take it; it is overwhelmingly sexy, full of intensely captivating moments that know how to grab and hold the reader's attention. The way she describes what happens makes you engage much more with the story and its characters, whom you get to know more deeply, and at times you can see how tender, capricious, selfish, and loving they can be; you can see both their bad moments and the good ones and connect more with them. In this book, the characters undergo changes that are subtle in some and monumental in others, allowing you to understand them a bit more.

On one hand, we have the struggle that takes place externally, and on the other, Juliette’s internal battle against her own feelings. Juliette has very strong feelings in this continuation, and Adam is willing to be with her regardless of the consequences. This makes them, for me, two characters (despite not liking Adam much in the past and in this book) with whom it was impossible not to suffer, not to feel the pain they experienced; it made my heart ache for Juliette and Adam. However, despite Juliette’s suffering, you can appreciate how she becomes increasingly stronger and braver; without Adam's protection, she learns to protect herself and others, sees what she is capable of, and uses it to defend her friends and companions, which makes her a great character.

"Books are easily destroyed. But words will live as long as people can remember them. Tattoos, for example, are very hard to forget. I think there’s something about the transience of life these days that makes it necessary for ink to mark the skin. It reminds us that we have been marked by the world, that we are still alive. That we will never forget."

Warner, this character who has turned my world upside down, has stolen so many of my sighs, my dreams, my thoughts, and a big part of my heart. He became my weakness, a weakness I do not regret and will never regret. He has such intense and charged feelings, such strong emotions that make him feel deeply; he makes Warner the most passionate character I have ever encountered, and that completely disarmed me. Warner is the 'villain' who is not really so villainous, so bad, or so cruel as painted. Here, you catch glimpses of the sensitivity and humanity he possesses, and it’s the most beautiful discovery that made my heart stop at how lovely, tender, and precious it was.

He is the character that makes me feel an overwhelming need to jump into the book and give him all the love he deserves, all the love he might lack, to declare my unconditional love to him and take him to Las Vegas to marry him, but I know that won’t be possible. Beyond that, you get to know Warner more and begin to understand him a bit better than in the previous book; you know what he feels, what he thinks, and the way he expresses himself makes you melt with love for him. You can see him vulnerable and wild, and that is incredible. You can witness the change in his demeanor with Juliette, which is completely different from how it was at the beginning.

You see his feelings exposed, and that only makes you love him more and more until you are no longer aware of anything else but your love for Warner. You wait and wait for him to appear; you feel so drawn to him and fall completely, madly, and irrevocably in love. He is all sensuality and as seductive as ever, because he is an excessively sexy character; there are moments when your heart belongs to him, brief moments when everything becomes passion and desire, and it is extremely fiery.

Kenji, another of my favorite characters, is funny and entertaining; he brings the joy and happiness that this book needed to be what it is. It is a sensational book that I enjoyed immensely, that made me happy and sad, that allowed me to fall in love more than I thought possible, and that made me feel many things at once. If the previous one was something amazing, this one was mind-blowing. The beauty with which Tahereh writes is precious. It was a very, very excellent book. (Translated from Spanish)

Just as great as the first book! I really despise love triangles so that's saying a lot! I love how the story has progressed and I love that we have a new villain. He is WAY worse than Warner! There was a twist around the halfway point that I definitely didn't see coming so that is always fun! Juliette did get a little annoying at some points with keeping secrets and not telling the whole truth. I hope she has grown a little from the events in the book and will redeem herself in the next one. I am looking forward to reading what happens next!

AY! I liked this book much more than the first one by far.
I loved being able to learn more about Omega Point and the people there, and that Juliette has made a lot of progress. I loved Kenji, seriously, he has become one of my favorite characters. I don’t know, I love that despite the situation the world is in, he is always making funny comments.
Finally, what’s happening with Juliette and Adam is becoming much more believable with all the things that are happening because, seriously, since the first book, their relationship has seemed too forced to me, and in this book it gives a more realistic touch, and I’m really happy about that.
Now let’s talk about Warner. If it was already somewhat impossible for me to hate him before, now with all of this it’s worse. I just want him to be happy and not to suffer anymore; he deserves a little rest. I liked how his relationship with Juliette develops and the conversations they have, and I liked that Tahereh showed that despite everything he did, Warner is also human.
As for Anderson, that man is evil incarnate, so what Juliette did deserves to be applauded XD.
Now, speaking of the ending, being inside Juliette's head and being able to read her thoughts makes it so that, with the last sentence of the book, I can't stand the urge to read the next one already. This is too addictive. (Translated from Spanish)

I have mixed feelings about this love triangle. POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!! Am I the only one who doesn't want her to end up with either of them? I mean, I don't know why, but I don't trust Adam; since the first book, I've had a bad feeling about him and I wouldn't want them to end up together, maybe because he seems too good to be true. On the other hand, I don't want her to end up with Aaron because of all the bad things he's done, and I don't like when girls end up with the "bad boys," but there's a small part of me that is somewhat drawn to him despite all the clichés I dislike. Is it crazy to wish she would have a sudden crush on Kenji? Because we have to admit that this girl is driven by hormones and he seems like the best option (except, of course, that he can't touch her, but that can hopefully be magically fixed). I don't give 4 or 5 stars because the beginning was so, so boring that I've been reading it since March, but I just finished it this month, July. So, you can imagine, right?

The story, at first, starts narrating how Juliette begins to fit in at Omega Point, a place where there are other "weirdos" with powers, but not as lethal as hers. I found it so boring to see all of that that I put it down for a few months, and when I recently started reading it again, I wanted to put it down once more. I didn’t like it at all, seeing Juliette suffering because she couldn't spend much time with Adam, and when she did, it was very strange because I didn't feel the connection between them. So when they finally broke up, I celebrated, really. I feel like she deserves someone who won’t get worn out by touching her, if there is anyone at all. But wait, there is someone, and that someone is Warner. WHAAAAAT?

When it’s discovered that Warner can touch Juliette, the Adam vs. Warner showdown doesn’t happen as I thought it would, but at least Adam feels betrayed by her and I like that. Those two need to stay away from each other for both their sakes. Enough of wanting to be with her 24/7, dude, find someone else who won’t kill you in a moment of carelessness.

Now, Warner and Juliette. Oh God, I was dying every time he called her “love” or some nickname like that and she didn’t say anything. I think if someone doesn't attract you and they call you that way, you should say: DON’T CALL ME THAT! Do you understand? Or at least that's what I would do. However, Juliette never stopped him. And when he goes to her room a day before the “war”, wow. Just wow.

“Yes, I want to be your friend. I want to be the friend you fall hopelessly in love with. The one you take into your arms and into your bed and into the private world you keep trapped in your head. I want to be that kind of friend.”

Warner's father? I want to read more about him, I really love the way the man is and at the end when he shoots Juliette, no, I was like "obviously she doesn't die, but be careful because he's going to hit her really hard when she's safe and sound."

When do Warner's powers get revealed? Oh, that chapter was so sassy because Adam was angry, Warner was unfazed but still getting aggressive, Kenji after trying to separate them was "dying," and Juliette thinking it was her when it was actually Warner was wow! Stop, stop, stop.

Wanting to know a bit more about the head of Omega Point and Kenji? Magnificent, I wish to know much more about those two. I really love Kenji, could there be one like him in real life? That's not too much to ask, right?

#TeamAdam or #TeamWarner? For now, Warner. Knowing the connection between him and Juliette has been great, and I hope in "Ignite Me" to see more moments like those that happened in this book, and let’s hope it doesn’t start as boring because Tahereh Mafi works magic when writing but at the same time makes everything go down the drain if it doesn’t start well. At least for me, these books are not the best thing I’ve read in 2018. (Translated from Spanish)

Again, this series it taken me by surprise. I am loving it. I listened to the second book on audiobook, and I highly recommend them. I think the narrator brings the emotions to life and it helps with the story.

Book two brings so many emotions. There are some twists and turns I was not expecting. There were a few times I had to rewind the story just to make sure I heard what they said right. There are things discovered about Juliet, Adam, and Warner that will keep you guessing how everything will end.

I did not know Team Warner was a thing, but I get it now. I think I am enjoying these since it is pretty heavy on the romance end of things. Some people may love that and some may not. I personally think it brings more to the story.

I am ready for book three and am hoping to finish this series before the end of the month.

I have really been looking forward to this book. There was so much hype surrounding events that took place and certain developments. It didn't completely let me down. The book wasn't quite as consistently exciting and as engaging as I had hoped. Scattered throughout were "Oh my goodness. Did that really just happen?!" moments and they were HUGE, but I almost would have preferred those moments to occur much more regularly in smaller increments just so I would feel like I couldn't put the book down. It ended up taking me kind of awhile to read this simply because it would get boring and drag a little and then we would have these moments that made me want to devour the story, only to have it cycle back into the drab.

I'm really not a fan of the Juliette, Warner and Adam triangle. Mainly because Adam really irritates me. He just seems far too emotional and whiny and I just don't see the appeal. Kenji is featured much more in Unravel Me and I really wish Adam would have got the boot and Kenji would take his place. Kenji is funny and lighthearted but knows when to be mature and serious. Maybe the next book will make my dreams come true?

Juliette is also fairly irritating. She is just so wishy-washy and nothing is ever black or white to her. It literally seems like she is always in the gray. With that said, her character does make some serious strides and towards the end of this installment I found myself really liking and looking forward to all things Juliette.

The ending to this book was superb. It left me absolutely wanting to read the next book!

I love warner in this book so much , i don't think i would put any proper review about it soon.

but i want to rant about it .. CHAPTER 62 ! and Aaron , what a beautiful name for a character like him , he is one of my first bookish villain/boyfriends .

Juliette was so annoying at times ( not surprising) but by the end i felt like her character developed and grew some back-bone

I admit , the only thing i love so much about this series is Warner (chapter 62 guuuuys!!)

    Parent review

I would give this book series four or five stars based on the story line alone. As an xmen fan, I loved this story line. I loved the characters and the weird writing grew on me. However as a momma, I would never let my young teenage girls read this book. (Thus a 3) It was full of colorful language and very intimate in places. I kept thinking man I would not want my daughter to read this and then go on a date.

    Wow. Just wow.

I don't even know how to write a review for this without giving away spoilers. So I'll just say that about half-way through this book I was flabbergasted by the plot twist.

Not a huge fan of potty-mouths in books. I feel like it's a cop-out for more descriptive word choices.

Other than that, I loved it. Even the whole clichéd love triangle. I love it when an author makes me sympathetic toward a villain.

    Looking forward to book 3.
