Barney passed away while we were traveling the South Island, after five years of our amazing journey. The last seven months of his life were spent exploring Te Wai Pounamu, from Nelson to Cromwell. He loved every minute of it - the walks in new places, the swims, meeting new people and dogs, riding in the back of the van watching the world go by. He was the most wonderful companion I could hope for and I miss him terribly. He was funny, loyal, stubborn, good-looking, cunning, infuriating and lovable. I feel so grateful I got to spend 13 years of my life with my favourite person, who turned out to be a dog.view less
