About this audiobook

A sweet sapphic romance takes a deadly dark turn in this sharp-as-a-knife novella with the slow build menace of Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber—from a New York Times-bestselling author hailed by Chuck Wendig as "a storyteller working at the top of her class."

Rosemary meets Ash at the farmers' market. Ash—precise, pretty, and practically perfect—sells bars of soap in delicate pastel colors, sprinkle-spackled cupcakes stacked on scalloped stands, beeswax candles, jelly jars of honey, and glossy green plants.

Ro has never felt this way about another woman; with Ash, she wants to be her and have her in equal measure. But as her obsession with Ash consumes her, she may find she's not the one doing the devouring . . .

Told in lush, delectable prose, this is a deliciously dark tale of passion taking an unsavory turn . . .

Contains mature themes.

What our readers think

Readers find this title a fun read, especially for spooky season. Some felt it was not what they expected but still good. However, the negative feedback was mostly on the narrator's style, which sounded overly simplistic and better suited for children's books.

Crazy how this portrays manipulative relationships, love bombing and devaluation so well.
Also why it's important to have friends who will tell you you're acting a fool.
    Good athmosphere.
Disappointing end, though it did surprise me.

Mmm… a bit too much predictable. Thought this was going to be horror but this is just a story about a serial killer with nothing new in her background nor any real depth to her personality. Rosemary was also very annoying. This is going to sound mean but at some point I thought “you got what you deserved!” Always whining and not seeing CLEAR signs. Overall this book is a bit overhyped.

I’m going to have to try reading this one instead of an audiobook. That was the worst narrator I’ve ever heard. The cadence and tone sounded like she was speaking to children or reading a kid’s book. I only got about 15 minutes in before I had to turn it off. Imagine Ms. Rachel or Blippi reading to you, and that’s what this narrator sounded like!
