IT was, in the end, a quite astonishing performance. Although Jessica von Bredow-Werndl's reigning European and Olympic champion TSF Dalera BB had already topped the grand prix team test, the proximity of Imhotep in second - having been sixth behind her when they met at the 2022 worlds - gave hope to others bidding for glory that the great mare might finally have peaked.
