The Radiological Decontamination Query Tool provides first responders, emergency planners, residents, and others in the community with an easy-to-use comparison of methods that could be used for cleanup. Further information on these decontamination methods is contained in published evaluation reports for urban wide-area decontamination, indoor residential decontamination, and outdoor residential decontamination.
- Urban Wide-Area Decontamination Query: Provides access to information contained in published multiple technology evaluation reports which document the results of over 50 studies using over 15 different methods, on over 10 building materials and 8 roofing materials, contaminated with 4 different radionuclides.
- Indoor Residential Decontamination Query: Provides citizens with information on how to decontaminate the interior of their homes using simple methods after a radiological contamination incident. Further information on these decontamination methods is contained in a published evaluation report, Evaluation of Low-Tech Indoor Remediation Methods Following Wide Area Radiological/Nuclear Incidents.
- Outdoor Residential Decontamination Query: Provides citizens with information on how to decontaminate outdoor residential surfaces such as roofing material, siding, and hardscape surfaces using simple methods after a radiological contamination incident. Further information on these decontamination methods is contained in a published evaluation report, Evaluation of Low-Tech Outdoor Decontamination Methods Following Wide Area Radiological/Nuclear Incidents.
