NEW! Infant Program

Nestled among the oaks that surround Rice University, the Medical Center, and the Museum District, you will find Becker School. We are a dedicated Early Childhood School on the gated, secure campus of Congregation Emanu El. For the first time, beginning in January 2025, Becker will be offering an infant program so that we can better support the families needing care for their newest additions. We will be accepting children as young as 6 weeks old, allowing families to have continuous care from 6-weeks-old through Pre-Kindergarten.

Our Infant Care Philosophy

At Becker School, we believe in providing a safe and nurturing environment that allows infants to be stimulated so they can reach their full potential. The interpersonal connections that teachers and staff develop with the children are critical to maximizing their developing language skills and their social/emotional and cognitive growth. Tummy time is an integral part of the day, as are the many sensory experiences available in the classroom and throughout the building and outside environment. Infants are included in Kabbalat Shabbat, music, and Jewish holiday celebrations. Parents and caregivers are in daily communication with the teaches and staff via the Brighwheel app. You can expect to be well informed about your child’s mood and activities each day through both pictures and messages. Developmental milestone checks are reported in the Fall and Spring during scheduled Conference Days.

The dedicated teaching professionals at Becker believe that the way we care for the children is an impactful and integral part of their development. We want their years with us to provide them with a solid foundation so that they may be lifelong learners that also value kindness, compassion, and human dignity.
