Infant Teacher

Becker School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our team. As a critical member of our staff, this role will play a key role in providing comprehensive care and creating a nurturing environment for infants. The position will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, supporting their development, and building strong relationships with both children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety & Environment
  Ensure the safety of all children by maintaining Texas Minimum Standards, keeping the classroom clean, and ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
• Activity Planning
  Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that address cognitive, motor, social/emotional, and sensory development. Revise plans as children grow and acquire new skills.
• Child Care
  Provide loving and supportive care, including lifting, diapering, feeding, and teaching personal hygiene. Build strong interpersonal connections with every child.
• Parent Communication
  Maintain daily communication with parents via the Brightwheel app. Monitor developmental milestones and keep parents informed. Conduct skill assessments and participate in parent-teacher conferences twice a year.
• Classroom Management
  Maintain a structured, positive environment. Delegate tasks as needed, always ensuring professionalism and respect when working with other team members. Resolve conflicts with support from administration if needed.
• Documentation and Reporting
  Track attendance, incidents, and allergies through the Brightwheel app. Share photos with parents at least three times per week and send weekly newsletters summarizing classroom activities.

Reporting Structure:
The Infant Teacher will report directly to the Director. The Assistant Teacher will report to you for classroom-specific procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in infant care or early childhood education
• Knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for child care centers
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to lift and care for infants

Director of Facilities & Security

The Director of Facilities & Security is responsible for ensuring that Emanu El’s large campus will be maintained to the highest standards and kept safe and secure. This position reports to the Executive Director and is the staff liaison for the Building and Grounds Committee and Security Task Force. This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the campus, and oversees the physical safety and security infrastructure of our congregation.

B’nei Mitzvah Teachers

Our B’nei Mitzvah preparation program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round from 5:00 p.m.—6:30 p.m. We have frequent openings for teachers with experience with reading and cantillation of Hebrew prayers, Torah (Reform trope), and Haftarah. Teachers

Our PreK-7th grade Helfman Religious School meets on Sundays during the school year from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We have periodic openings for Hebrew and Judaics teachers at all grade levels. Teachers are expected to prepare their own lesson plans within a curriculum framework provided by the school with assistance from staff as necessary. For Hebrew teachers, there is also the opportunity for additional teaching time in focused, small groups.
