Shadow Weaver, who acts as a parental figure to Catra and Adora, two of the main characters, is highly manipulative to both and incredibly rude and demeaning to Catra, even going so far as to harm her, and even in the first episode we can see the fear Catra has towards her.

A teenager is raised as a child soldier and physically abused on-screen and of screen by her superiors/caretakers via electrocution, asphyxiation, and an (offscreen) blow to the face. The character shields their face and flinches in the presence of their caretakers.

- Catra's whole character arc as a villain.

- Everyone from Adora and Catra's squad in the Horde is implied to have been a child soldier. However, everyone (except Rogelio) picks on Kyle with no consequences.

- Arguably Hordak, since he justifies his military campaign as a quest for redemption.

The title character's main arc deals with coming to terms with the fact that the organisation that raised her is in fact evil, and lied to her all her life about their benevolent intentions. Much time is devoted to her overcoming the effects of this indoctrination.

Shadow Weaver is never shown drinking, but there are scenes of her coming home, slurring her words, to abuse small children.

She is heavily implied to be drunk at least twice.

Sort of. I am an autistic person, and I really really really relate to the canon autistic character, Entrapta. There are just a lot of problems with her portrayal. People are constantly putting her on leashes and telling her that she is weird and just being really mean to her. The people that do this to her are the good guys, and no body ever tells them that what they are doing is wrong. These scenes are incredibly difficult to watch. I love Entrapta and she is really relatable, but I wish that they had shown that these unkind, ableist actions are not okay, rather than just letting them go unnoticed.

I don't know if this counts, but I thought it might be worth mentioning. An autistic coded character is manipulate into believing her friends don't care about her. A lot of characters treat her differently and with little patience because of her difficulties in social interactions. This impacts her deeply as in season 4 she gives a speech about not belonging and heavily implies that she would rather die than return to said friends.

Sort of. Catra often says things that are very close to suicidal thoughts, and she will often throw herself into situations that could very well get her killed. She has very self-destructive tendencies and some of the scenes of her when she is saying things that are close to suicidal thoughts could be very triggering.

S3E5 and S3E6 have a lot of flashing/glitching effects throughout that could be triggering.

Overall the show is very inclusive and has a positive outlook on differences (except the bad guys). Scorpia sometimes cannot do things they way others do due to her having claws for hands. People in the Horde are not accommodating. Entrapta is on the spectrum and people are not always understanding, but still support her. SPOILERS: Hordak is revealed in season 3 to be a "defective" clone who was sent to die because of it.

A nonbinary character dresses up as a little girl to infiltrate a rebellion, but it's moreso treated as a threat than as a joke. It falls into the "man in a dress" trope, although there's no jokes about it.

Hordak is (one of) the oldest characters in the show and has a romance arc with Entrapta but she is an adult (30’s) and there is no power imbalance

A hot springs scene, a beach scene, a character is shown bathing fully covered by the tub water, characters appear in sleepwear but never nude.

Adora feels openly attracted to muscular women, but it's played for laughs, she never comments on it and doesn't disrespect them when actually interacting with them.

The main couple grew up together in an orphanage-like system but they’re not related.

the show has a rather refreshing willingness to welcome diverse masculinities. Bow, the main guy character, is incredibly in touch with his emotions + he wears a crop top with a heart on it and even a flower crown. I love him

You could interpret Hordak, a defective clone, as chronically ill.

Madame Razz has trouble with her memories and perception of time, constantly mistaking the protagonist with another character. It may hit close to home if you know someone with dementia.

There are instances of weird space vehicles being driven super carelessly, though.

There is a crashed spaceship seen in Season 3, episodes 2 and 3. Later in season 4, in the episode “Hero” a transmission is played of when that spaceship crashed.

No one drowns, but there is a moment where a character is overwhelmed by water and is showing having difficulty staying above said water. The scene is meant to be comical, but may still be disturbing for some.

A portal is opened, which causes the very threads of space time to unwind. Later, a weapon stored within a planet is set off and the entire planet begins to unwravel.
