A photo of Leon Goretzka taken during a Bayern Munich pre-season training session this week has got fans talking.

The 29-year-old was pictured with his hands on his hips, while his hair was noticeably much less full than it had been previously.

This image went viral via social media after it was tweeted by the content creator '@StokeyyG2' alongside a photo of a topless Goretzka looking ripped in 2020.

The two images were accompanied by the caption: 'What happened to Leon Goretzka…'

Among the comments, many fans pointed out that this was simply the natural aging process. However, there were other theories too.

Many fans commented that Goretzka had 'fallen off', while some joked that 12 months of playing alongside Harry Kane may have caused his hair loss.

Thomas Tuchel was also widely blamed. Meanwhile, another comment simply asked: 'Is this the same person'?

It has been a tough few days for the German.

After Goretzka played a poor pass during a training session last week, new Bayern manager Vincent Kompany brought the drill to a stop to highlight that this was not acceptable.

Goretzka has been a Bayern player for six seasons, making 221 appearances. He has won 13 trophies with Bayern including the UEFA Champions League in 2020.

However, Bayern ended the 2023-24 campaign without winning any silverware.
