Forecast Discussion:
In the upper atmosphere, a low pressure trough currently sits over the Pacific Northwest. Over the next few days, this system will migrate to the east, resulting in southwesterly winds at the surface here in Arizona. This will disrupt the monsoonal high pressure located over the Four Corners region. However, ample moisture content is still present in the desert southwest, with even more moisture continuing to funnel into the area. Daily afternoon/evening storm chances will persist through our 5-day forecast period.

In regards to air quality, ozone and particulate matter will remain relatively low thanks to a combination of active weather and prior rainfall. By next week, lighter winds and dryer conditions may result in a rebound in ozone levels in Tucson. No High Pollution Advisories are currently expected.

Check in with your local weather authority for any severe weather concerns through the weekend.

Have a great weekend, and we'll see you on Monday!
