What Our Argentina Adventurers Think:

Myself and 2 friends undertook a trip to Aconcagua in February 2017 with Adventure Alternative. At the time of booking there was not a trip available for the dates that we required but after talking to Gavin (director) he provided a new date that was suitable for all parties. We saw a number of other companies were providing the date we needed but it was apparent that Adventure Alternative were head and shoulders above the rest. Our trip went of without a hitch and was flawlessly organised and executed. Our guide Greg was fantastic in terms of personality and experience and was a genuine pleasure to be around, though he does need to work on his singing voice! The trip was a success with many of us summiting despite recent snow fall and no injuries reported. I would and plan to use Adventure Alternative many times in the future. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

About Climbing Argentina Mountains

However, don’t let its height fool you. Aconcagua does not require technical mountaineering knowledge to be conquered. Of course, normal precautions and an understanding of mountain safety need to be observed, however, there are routes up the mountain that do not require ropes. Adventure Alternative offers trips up two of Aconcagua’s non-technical routes. The prominent peak offers opportunities for travel across glaciated terrain, as well as stunning views of the Andes. As a member of the Seven Summits, Aconcagua is a must-climb for anyone looking to stand on the tallest points of each continent. It’s one of the easier ones to bag, so it’s a great peak for those looking to get started with the Seven Summit challenge.

Scenery And Mountains In Argentina

Argentina is home to some of the most stunning mountain scenery this world has to offer. The soaring peaks of the Andes are softened by beautiful azure lakes, roaring glacial torrents, and the famous pampas. Vibrant cities and generous people embody a culture that is true to the Latin American spirit.

This elongated country extends through the majority of South America and combines Latin spirit with colonial heritage. Dubbed “The Paris of South America,” the capital city of Buenos Aires boasts the sultry flair as the home of salsa dancing as well as colonial charm in its historic architecture.

Culture, Food, And People Of Argentina

Furthermore, Argentina is home to some mouth-watering culinary cuisines. By combining Spanish and Italian influences with local, indigenous cooking techniques, Argentina has perfected the art of cooking beef. Sink your teeth into a mouthwatering carne sandwich slathered in homemade chimichurri sauce. Or enjoy a freshly-baked empanada with a side of farm-fresh veggies.

The west of central part of Argentina is home to the Mendoza Provence. Famous for its full-bodied red wines, this region is also home to the highest point in the Americas, Cerro Aconcagua. Aside from being a wine-mecca, this region of Argentina provides excellent opportunities for adventure excursions. With world-class hiking, climbing, skiing, and paragliding, there is something for everyone in this region.

Heading even further south, the landscape gives way to the iconic region of Patagonia. Impressively steep peaks, icy blue glaciers, and high tundra grasses create inspiring, picture-perfect landscapes. The area of El Chalten is home to the iconic Mt. Fitz Roy. Trekkers and nature lovers from all over the world flock to this isolated region of the world to experience world-class trekking and pristine natural beauty.

Argentina offers the complete package with her rugged beauty, towering peaks, unique culture, and unforgettable food and drink. Come climb Aconcagua with Adventure Alternative. Bask in the pristine beauty and fine culture of Argentina while conquering one of the world’s Seven Summits.
