On 13 September 2024, the ACT Government assumed a caretaker role, with an election to be held 19 October 2024. Information on this website will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the election and conclusion of the caretaker period.

MyWay+ transition underway: Fare free travel period starts 20 September 2024

MyWay+ is coming in November 2024 and our transition to the new system has begun. MyWay and NXTBUS real time systems are no longer available. While we remove MyWay equipment on board buses and start to install the new MyWay+ validators both in buses and along the light rail alignment, enjoy our fare free travel period. For more information see MyWay+ transition commences Friday 20 September.

As of Friday 20 September 2024, MyWay is no longer in use on Transport Canberra buses or light rail services.

The old smartcard ticketing system, MyWay, is being replaced by MyWay+ which will go live in November 2024. Until that time, travel is free on all Transport Canberra buses and light rail. There is no need to tap on or off with a MyWay card.

Please keep your old MyWay card as this will assist with the balance transfer to MyWay+.
