This capstone action research study focused on nine electronic medical records (EMR) trainers and subject matter experts with no training in instructional design and e-learning tools as e-learning training developers.  The research question addressed in this study is:  "How did the interventional instructional unit impact participants’ attitudes about the ability to use the ADDIE model and incorporate e-learning into electronic medical records system training sessions?"  The study involved an eight hour block of instruction on the ADDIE instructional model and e-learning tools.  The instruments used for data collection were identical pre- and post-surveys.  Data were analyzed and findings made utilizing quantitative analysis.  The study concluded that training in instructional design principles and e-learning tools can improve EMR trainer and subject matter expert knowledge and confidence for developing effective training.

Investigation of the Student and Teacher Opinions about the Screencasting Centered Course

The current study aimed to analyze student and teacher opinions that participated to a screencasting centered undergraduate course. To achieve this, screencasts about Photoshop software were created using Camstudio Open Source (camstudio.org) application and also the students were asked to create their own screencasts. In addition, the produced screencasts were shared by the instructor via YouTube (www.youtube.com) social media site. 46 students and the instructor were interviewed about the screencasting activities of the course. Majority of the students reported that, screencasting could be used by anybody computer literate, sharing these screencasts on social media make learning compelling, using them via social media makes it accessible in an unlimited way, and makes pinpointing easy about anything they wanted to learn. Furthermore, many students claimed that prolonged use of computers was boring and there were inadequate instructor-student and student-to-student interaction. Both instructor and students argued that this method could be used in any topic recording of screen is possible.

This paper investigates the similarities and differences in leisure experiences between Nordic walking and rambling and their contributions to well-being. Twelve Nordic walking practitioners and thirteen ramblers partook in semi-structured interviews at various locations in the United Kingdom. By employing the Seligman’s PERMA model and Stebbins’ concept of serious leisure, we found that leisure experiences in rambling related to well-being by creating a strong emotional bond between the members and the natural environments, developing and maintaining friendships, and facilitating mobility and vitality. In contrast the leisure experience of Nordic walking involved developing physical activity skills and fitness, encouraging leadership, and promoting positive emotions through the participation in the activity. E-learning has evolved over the past years with many universities also following the growing trend of incorporating online courses into their institutions. This four year public institution has not been left behind. The institution has included the concept of online learning into its quality enhancement plan (QEP), which is designed to enhance online learning resulting in an E-focused environment. Surveys of faculty and students at institution, however, showed the potential difficulties faced in online learning. Inadequate training, lack of motivation, and poor time management are some of the major factors affecting passing rates. Background: Midwifery is an emotionally challenging profession, and academic education of midwifery especially clinical learning has its own specific challenges. Midwifery students face with stressful experiences, especially related to instructor and characteristics of clinical environment, which can affect their theoretical and practical abilities. There is insufficient evidence in this field. This study aimed to explore (1) the perceived stress and stressors of midwifery students and (2) the relationships between students' stress and related factors in clinical learning environment. Methods: A cross sectional, survey design was conducted at one university in Iran. A sample of 108 students was selected using Krejcie and Morgan table in 2016. Data was collected using Persian version of Cohen's perceived stress scale, Persian questionnaire of sources of stress and demographic form. Data was analyzed using independent t, ANOVA and correlation coefficient test (α < 0.05). Results: Participants returned 70 surveys (response rate, 64.8%). Approximately 56% of the students perceived a high level of stress. The most common dimensions of stressors were "unpleasant emotions" and "humiliating experiences". The highest stressors were included "feeling suffering due to seeing for patients with critical situation", "instructor's admonition in the presence of clinical staff" and "communication with instructor". The "interest in the field of study" had a negative impact on perception of stressors in dimensions of "clinical practices" and "interpersonal communication".

The aim of this research is to determine the opinions of scholars regarding the new associate proficiency criteria published in the official gazette as a result of amendment of the resolutions in law and law with the Higher Education Law No. 7100. The research was conducted based on qualitative method. Within this scope, opinions of 244 academicians from Fırat University, Bitlis Eren University, Afyon Kocatepe University, İnönü University and Erzincan University were taken into consideration. Based on the relevant conceptual framework, a structured and semi-structured interview form was used by researchers to collect data. The data were analyzed using content analysis and descriptive analysis. There are also some original expressions. As a result, it is observed that opinions about the legal regulation related to associate professorship are rather scattered, and many academicians are reluctant to express their views. Although some regulations have been made about associate professorship, it can be said that the process of associate professorship is open to abuse. It has been found that there are non-objective situations both in the conduct of scientific studies and in the appointment process. However, the ultimate impression taken is that the legal regulation is missing.

Background. Debriefing is a fundamental step in simulation, particularly in the medical field. Simulation sometimes even serves as a pretext for debriefing. Most often, debriefing takes place easily, producing a qualitative feedback and an optimal learning transfer. But sometimes, the facilitator faces difficulties. An unproductive debriefing can be described as follows: the debriefing of a clinical simulation session is unproductive when facilitators or learners perceive the occurrence of an obstacle that has hindered the learning process. Objectives & method. Considering the difficulties encountered in this type of debriefing, we believe it is necessary to investigate the topic in depth in order to bring out some theoretical principles. The purpose of this study is to find out the opinions of instructors on mobile learning. This study has been carried out at the Near East University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, during the Fall 2009 semester. Participants in this study consisted of 40 instructors. In the research, in addition to the information obtained through literature search, a survey was carried out to learn the opinions of teachers on mobile learning. Data were collected using a questionnaire. After that SPSS 16.0 was used to analyze and interpret the collected data. Anova, frequency, paired sampled t-test and percentage methods were used during the analysis process. The results of the study indicate that it is very important for the instructors, who are the key players in education, to follow the recent advances in the field of mobile technologies very closely, and if necessary use mobile learning techniques in their own teaching.
