The presence of the Campbell viper (Bothrocophias campbelli) is reported for the first time in Southwestern Colombia, noting the lepidosis ranges, data on coloration, location, altitude and annotations on the ecosystem. The altitudinal ranges and geographical location are mentioned for the five representatives of the Bothrocophias genus in Colombia with emphasis on the species registered for the biogeographic Chocó and all the genera and species of vipéridas present in this area are established.
