Abstract
A new Salen bis azo ligand (SBAAc) was synthesized via the preparation of Salen first,then Coupled it with the diazonium salt of p-amino acetophenone at basic media, it was characterized with many techniques such (CHN, FTIR, Mass Spectroscopy and 1 H NMR) to ensure that will synthesized, followed by aUV-Visible study for the divalent ions (Ni,Pd and Pt) aquous solutions mixing with this new ligand for awide range of (concentrations & pH values) to determine their optimal condition for the soild complexes synthesized beyond the (M:L) ratio determination, in which the proper ratio ‫׳‬ s was 1:1. These solid complexes were charecterized with (CHNM, FTIR, UV-Visible, Molar coundictuvity and Magnetic suceptibility) to deduce the Geometrical structure of these complexes, that agreed with the square planer geomeries for all, and the coordination via the azomethene nitrogen and the salcyldehyde oxygen, excluding the azo group from this coordination.
