The upcoming book which was titled as “The Future of European Union Integration: A Failure or A Success? Future Expectations and Prospects” is making an effort in investigating the present and future developments in the European Union integration regarding challenges the EU had encountered since 2000s to 2018. During the last two decade, the European Union integration had faced several crises endangering its reason of existence including the Constitutional Crisis, 2008 Financial and Economic Crisis, Migration Crises and Brexit. In this respect, there are two different arguments that predict the future of the EU integration; while some groups think that the EU will lose its existence reason, others claims that the EU will be integrated more than before eliminating crises and rebuilding new capacities.

The article assesses the European Union as a catalyst for the integration of Europe. It discusses the geographical location of Europe. The origin, membership, aims and organs of the EU came to focus. It examines the EU as an agent of integration of Europe. The data was obtained from primary and secondary sources. Oral interview constitutes the primary source. Books, journals, newspapers, theses, dissertations, etc. were used as secondary sources. It was found that attempts were made to establish associations with the mandate of integration of Europe before the formation of the EU. It was also demonstrated that the Maastricht Treaty of 1992 changed the name of the EC to EU. It was also found that the custom union, common currency and the European common market were part of the integration process. In conclusion, the European Union has a lot of challenges when confronted with the realization of the mandate.

This book argues that the history of the EU advances in steps, starting from the founding EEC Treaty to the most recent developments, which include the Draft Accession Agreement (DAA) of the EU to the ECHR and UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement(s). Our belief is that, whist European integration proceeds through different stages and is a building block exercise, profound interconnectedness between Member States has been fostered. Yet, each country in Europe has experienced a fate of its own, which was triggered by internal political and economic crises and has fuelled Euroscepticism. The latter, rooted and framed by people’s national experiences, is an increasing sentiment. It is evident that the wave of Euroscepticism is spreading across the continent and no longer tied to small segments of society or extremist political parties. Hence, scholars argue that the EU project is exposed to greater public contestation, at time when Europe is challenged from North to South by economic and austerit...

This collection of articles is focused on the options for the future of the EU economy and for the EU-Russia economic relations. These topics are very important for Europeans, for Russians, and for all people from other countries who are interested in or explore global trends and global economic problems. At present, there are contradictory opinions of experts what is happening in the EU and in the most important European countries, especially in the UK with its Brexit. Some of them say that Europe faced unprecedented challenges like migrant crisis, disintegration processes between EU countries as well as inside them, bureaucratic insolvency of the EU governance, financial unbalances. Others believe, that unified Europe has enough reserves and potential to settle these problems. What do they need is just necessity to drop ballast of populism and political extremism, to find and create new financial and regulative mechanisms. There are even those who argue that Europe is now more productive and powerful than ever, because the Southern Economies like Greece, Portugal, Italy have rebounded, banking sector is strengthened by the Banking Union, debts are refinanced. But can we be so optimistic about that?
