Sol-gel synthesis of TiO2 doped with chromium, characterization and studies of photocatalytic degradation of tartrazine under visible light2023 •
Photocatalysis is an advanced oxidation method that allows, among other issues, the removal of aqueous pollutants of different origins. However, its application on an industrial scale is limited by the requirement of excitation sources in the UV frequency. For this reason, it is extremely important to develop photocatalytic materials capable of working under visible radiation in photodegradation processes. This paper analyzes the synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles, using a new sol-gel effective route in a nonpolar dissolvent, and its modification by doping with different Chromium VI ions concentrations: 0.5; 1.0 and 1.5% w/w. In addition, a novel modification of this synthesis technique is reported, in which a nonpolar solvent, C6H12 is used to control, the hydrolysis reactions of the titania precursor. Similarly, the use of ammonium chromate, (NH4)2CrO4, introduced by means of the impregnation-by-moisture-incipient technique, is proposed as a precursor of Cr dispersed in the TiO2 network, together with the study of the influence of chromium content, on the photocatalytic activity of solids. The solids obtained by this technique were heat treated at 400ºC and characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman Spectroscopy, Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), N2 Sorptometry and Zeta Potential. Doping of titania with chromium stabilizes the crystalline phases of anatase and brookite. In addition, the introduction of chromium (VI) ions tends to reduce the average size of the particles, increasing the specific surface area and favoring the development of a mesoporous structure. It also decreases the forbidden band (Ex.) and increases the absorption of radiation in the visible light range. Thus, when irradiated with visible light, doped photocatalysts show interesting activity in photocatalytic degradation of azo dyes.

The Jews between Crown Lands and Noble Lordships: A Case-Study of the Ribera del Duero Area (Fifteenth Century). The history of the Jews in the lordships of Castile is a field of research that has only partially been explored. The relationship between the lords and the Jews includes various issues: the establishment and organisational structure of their community, their relationship with the lord, or the jurisdictional interference in tax-farming, loans, and other civil causes. This study offers an overview of the settlement of Jewish communities in the eastern area of the Douro river basin, especially in the Ribera del Duero area. It also presents a case-study of the Jewish family of the Sotos, which reveals how the issue of lordship jurisdiction was used as a subterfuge, as well as the possibility of tracing the mobility of Jews from the lands of the royal domain to lordship lands through royal records.

O trabalho realiza uma análise sobre a personagem Fortunata, propondo uma nova abordagem. Nosso foco se concentrou nas alusões ao comportamento feminino transgressor e repudiável de Fortunata para a construção de um panorama de atuação social que desagradava ao autor do Satyricon. Examinamos como Petrônio produz uma fama para Fortunata, usando principalmente o que personagens masculinos falam sobre ela. Analisamos a personagem com vistas a compreender ainda os vários modos com que são usados recursos de dissimulação para caracterizar os personagens e a sociedade em que viviam. Por fim, atentamos aos aspectos relativos à moral sexual feminina que também são mobilizados nesse sentido.
