Beautiful graphics, enrapturing story, and fascinating paranormal abilities! Somehow makes both a great supernatural AND psychological thriller.
Would recommend playing in a well-lit room.
If an update was ever released, we would love to do a revisit!
(the two of us agree on the fact that voice-acting would make this game even more incredible, and if you're ever looking for female voices with theatrical experience, well... ;)
As far as horror games go, this is top notch. Despite having no obvious threat, the game manages to build an exquisitely eerie and creepy atmosphere. The little puzzle with the keypad, I felt was reasonably well thought out. Hard enough that I did have stop to take a moment to think about it, but not so difficult that I would need a hint to figure it out. If you ever decided to expand it and make a full game out of it, I would absolutely pay money for it.
I love the this!! Especially the way the main menu works with the beginning of the game. If you ever decide to finish this, that would be amazing if not I'll still be keeping an eye out for anything you make!! <3Zombikittie
Well now - this is actually really interesting. I especially lik how th e Main Menu is actually a part of th room where the game starts. That was rather clever. And the "Otherworld vision" definitely allowd for a couple of spooky sights.
I will say a few things though - much as all th spooky writing is effective, it is a LITTLE overdone. THere are places where it sems to be absolutely everywhere to a point where it kind of loses its punch. I get that it is likly supposed to imply that a LOT of things went wrong in there, but still. Less is more sometimes.
And, well... I know you want to tease more coming, but frankly, the ending to this demo is a hundred times more comical than it is in any way foreboding. I couldn't help but laugh.
Don't take those two gripes the wrong way however - I did really like what I saw so far here, and would definitely love to see where the concept can go. I am full of questions and interest.
I liked the idea of the power to see into the Otherworld but what I found really annoying is the passcode part because I just couldn't find/figure out what it could be. I tried following the hints but no dice.
Thanks for playing! Sorry you got stuck at the puzzle. I figured the "happy birthday to me" on the wall beneath the keypad combined with the glowing red bed with a date would be enough, but I should have set aside some time for playtesting with a test audience. Most people try 1974 as the code, despite that not being a birth date, rather a birth year. I considered adding a special text then hinting at 1974 being almost right but that she should look for the day and month, but ended up not doing it. I'll try to have some more in-world hints for my next puzzle!
My favorite part of the game is its main mechanic. This short project is a great example of what could be done if turned into a fully realized game. ๐๐ป
Markiplier played this today and holy hell its so good! If you wanna set up a kickstarter or patreon or something please link it to meeee cause this is an awesome prototype! Best of luck to ya :)
All I can say is that I want to see this turn into a full game. You clearly know how to make a visual impact, and I think you could do something great with the concept.
I skimmed through the video, I appreciate the feedback! I agree with it, the mechanic could have been used in more ways. I did run out of time towards the end, which I sadly think shows. I hope to do it more justice at some point ๐ป
Tried this yesterday and it was quite unpleasant... Well done :D Loved the setting and the feel of the game - the way the shadows move (very un-natural) confused me at first but it really does add a lot to the games charm and style.. It's pretty unsettling <.<
Very strange shadows, but once I had some time to think about it I actually thought it was pretty cool - adds feelings of super natural stuff. If you keep working on it, consider keeping the shadows moving the same way but slight less dark maybe? :D
I really enjoyed this one, as I was playing I thought this was a demo, but it works as a short game too. I would love to see this style and these mechanics brought into a larger scale game though. Really fun, great job, this is the first game in the video
really cool game liked it a lot and wish there was more to it. also like the puzzles and the two visions you can have that was a really cool thing you could do. cant wait for more!!
The game did a nice job building an atmosphere but didn't deliver. It also mentioned a consequence for using your otherworld vision, but it didn't present itself to me. The background noises helped build the game world and the room where you have to type in the code was awesome, when you switched visions and saw everything and it was like WHAT THE FUCK! That was cool. But half the game is grabbing a flashlight, then a key, typing in a code. Then the other half is find three generator parts (Like we have seen an absurd amount of times) and then you get into an elevator and it's over. I noticed the play button did say 'prototype' so maybe the creator is planning on finishing the game and if he does, I will be interested. Also big fan of your channel (I totally found this by coincidence.)
Yeah, I agree. The elevator part isn't that inspired, it was something I did quickly to wrap up the game so I could focus on other assignments. It'd be nice to get to flesh out the experience more... ๐
well... I think It can be a very good horror game, I love the atmosphere of the game, and the gameplay is very intresting, you can switch between 2 world, it's an idea you can growth with effiency
Played this as the 2nd of a 3 random horror games video, and I loved the mechanic and how creepy it turned out to be. The openness of the story and possibility of a threat left me wanting more to it.
Love the concept behind this game. I wish we had a little more to play but being a class project I totally get it. I really think you have a good idea here and I hope you plan on working on it more, instead of letting it gather more dust ;)
Your game is the 2nd game in the video starting at 7:14!

Hey, thanks for playing! I hope to expand on the concept one day!
Yeah, the concept is so awesome :) :) I would totally consider buying it if you do!!
We didn't win the game, the game won us.

It's the 3rd game I play.

Thanks for playing it! Yes, the flashlight caused some strange shadows, I was never quite able to fix it. ๐ค
