Challenge

Offering health coverage and services to expats, locals, and digital nomads, Allianz Partners health line of business develops informative and engaging content across health, wellness, nutrition, and travel topics.

For a long time, they focused on traditional content and event marketing, like blog posts and in-person meetups. As with many organizations, the health line of business’s shift to a video-rich strategy started in spring 2020.

“Not even a few months after I started, all of our in-person events were cancelled due to Covid,” says Genevieve Deschenes, Content & Event Specialist. Calling off events worldwide meant she and her team had to quickly rethink their approach to educating their audience.

Yet no one on Gen’s team had extensive experience in producing video broadcasts or content. “We never had an in-house video team looking after our strategy,” she says. “We were creating written content, and then we were tasked with translating it into video formats for social, newsletters, and our website.”

“My team is based in Dublin, I’m in Croatia, and we work with colleagues in Dubai and Australia. Sometimes our collaboration can be messy, but with Vimeo, we have everything in one place.”

Solution

The prompt pivot meant they had to learn the ropes of video marketing, and fast. Juggling a variety of live and on-demand content, they needed to effectively host, manage, and distribute videos across multiple channels.

With Vimeo’s built-in publishing tools across major marketing channels, including social media, Genevieve can easily meet users where they are. “It’s easy with Vimeo to share the live stream wherever we want, on our own platforms or social channels,” she says.

What’s more, Vimeo’s video library has become a central, internal company hub for cross-functional video collaboration. “My team is based in Dublin, I’m in Croatia, and we work with colleagues in Dubai and Australia,” says Genevieve. “Sometimes our collaboration can be messy, but with Vimeo, we have everything in one place.” Teammates are notified when new content is uploaded, which they can then take and distribute to their regional audiences.

Outcome

Since adding Vimeo to their video toolkit, Allianz Partners’ health line of business is able to better fold video into a cross-channel marketing strategy, spanning social, email, and onsite — and then scale it. They now produce multiple webinars a month, large-scale industry events annually, and are expanding into internal broadcasts, too.

“It was always challenging to get partners or members together in person,” she says. “Including online video within our strategy has helped us better reach our audience all over the world.”
