Dr. Han served as Co-PI to provide technical support to Oak Ridge National Laboratory with task orders amounted to a total
of more than $10 millions in the timeframe from 1996 through 2003. He was responsible for securing an additional $6 million USDOT funding to establish UT as one of the ten Tier 1 RSPA (now RITA) University Transportation Centers (UTC) in
1994, which continues to this day. He was one of the original PI's in developing the ITS Research Center of Excellence (RCE)
proposal, which brought in a $5 million funding at Virginia Tech in 1993.
