Mokhtar Attari
Mokhtar ATTARI is a Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (USTHB) and an Invited Professor at the Higher School of Engineers (ESDAT), where he teaches Electronics, Instrumentation, and Metrology to Master's and Engineering students. He graduated as an Engineer in Electronics from the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique d’Alger in 1985, and obtained a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) and a Doctorate of Sciences in Instrumentation and Measurement from Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble-INP) and the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA), Grenoble, France, respectively in 1987 and 1991. He obtained a Doctorat d’Etat in Electrical Engineering in 1995. In 1996, he was appointed Director of the Institute of the current faculty for a period of five years, and in 2005 he was elected Director of the Laboratory of Instrumentation Research for three consecutive terms. During the year 2000 to 2001, he was invited to Bologna at the IMM laboratory of the Italian CNR, where he mainly worked on the characterization of microelectronic devices. His research work focuses on the design of sensors and signal conditioners, intelligent techniques for correcting sensor characteristics, biomedical instrumentation of physiological signals, physical rehabilitation and mechatronics for automotive. He has led research projects with economic impact and supervised several dissertations of Technicians, Bachelors, Engineers, Masters, and Doctoral theses, and published more than a hundred contributions, including two books as well as in journals and internationally renowned scientific conferences.
