This research talks about the issues and process of convergence between
urban space and locative media, which form a third space: the Cybrid space. The
Cybrid is a term coined by the architect Peter Anders, to designate a hybrid
environment where to develop social practices related to cyberculture.
With the spread of Internet 1.0 in the 90’s, which takes place from the
massive sales of personal computers, the aspects of knowledge have addressed
the implications of the emergence of a new place: the virtual space. But it is
especially among 'digital artists' of Net.art and architects who investigated the
ways of perceiving, producing and aesthetically create this new place.
A decade later, the virtual environment has suffered a new twist: the
distribution of portable telecommunication devices: smartphones, coupled with
tracking devices, demarcation and spatial mapping. The resulting practices of
these new media: locative media, associated informational layers to objects,
people and assemblages networking and spatially locate this network.
To investigate the process of hybridization between the informational sphere
and space, drew up a mapping of art and architecture works that specifically
address this issue.
The selection of these two fields of knowledge for the analysis is justified
because they are related areas that are promoting paradigmatic changes in this
field and bringing essential contributions to the understanding of social practices
involving cybrids spaces.
Each project offers, the theoretical, descriptive support, on current forms of

This research explores the convergence between urban space and locative media, resulting in a third space termed the Cybrid space. Coined by architect Peter Anders, "Cybrid" describes a hybrid environment where social practices related to cyberculture develop.
With the advent of Internet 1.0 in the 1990s, propelled by the widespread adoption of personal computers, the notion of virtual space emerged, reshaping how knowledge and spatial interaction were perceived. This transformation was particularly significant among digital artists in the Net.art movement and architects who explored new ways to perceive, produce, and aesthetically shape virtual environments.
A decade later, the evolution of virtual space experienced another shift with the proliferation of portable telecommunication devices, such as smartphones, equipped with tracking, demarcation, and spatial mapping capabilities. These technologies gave rise to locative media, which associate informational layers with objects, people, and networks, spatially contextualizing this information.
To investigate the hybridization process between the informational sphere and physical space, this study maps out art and architecture works addressing this phenomenon. The focus on these two fields is justified by their pivotal role in promoting paradigmatic changes and providing essential insights into understanding social practices within Cybrid spaces.
Each project discussed offers theoretical and descriptive support for contemporary forms of telematic convergence in space, highlighting specific issues in the hybridization process. These contributions advance knowledge about the production, appropriation, and sharing of technologies within urban spaces.

The overproduction of digital images and its consequences for perception are examined, proposing a critical reflection on the visual transformations in the digital age. The conclusions highlight the mutations of the gaze caused by the hegemony of new digital media. Keywords: Hegemonic images; Harun Farocki; @loveletterexe.
