The research model included the individual traits of age, gender, experience with IT, and educational level. The article discusses the categories of organizationally relevant versus personal use of the Internet. Using a questionnaire, data was collected from 328 respondents in one organization. The results indicated that users perceive structural differences across various types of Internet use areas, although no clear support for a distinction between organizationally relevant and personal use was found. Additionally, the analyses indicated that personal use is considerably lower than organizationally relevant use of the Internet. However, employees may not distinguish clearly between these two categories. Personal IT innovativeness was the best predictor of organizationally relevant use of the Internet. Age contributed negatively to Internet use. Males appear to use the Internet more frequently than females. Educational level had no impact on Internet use.
Background: The worksite is regarded as an important arena for health promotion initiatives due t... more Background: The worksite is regarded as an important arena for health promotion initiatives due to less attrition and the presence of natural social networks. However, in order to support long-term behavioural change the programs must avoid cohesion and controlling the participants' motivation. This study aimed to test the hypotheses that a team-based exercise intervention would increase the participants’ autonomous motivation and perceived competence for exercise, and that this would increase their level of regular exercise as well as their cardiorespiratory fitness and health. Methods: N=xx participants were randomly allocated at team level to an intervention and a control condition. The team-based worksite intervention was designed based on the tenets of Self-Determination Theory (SDT) combined with techniques from Motivational Interviewing and self-help groups. Exercise motivation, exercise levels, cardiorespiratory fitness, blood pressure, waist, weight, and cholesterol were assessed at baseline and after 5 months. Findings: A MANOVA, repeated measures, indicated significant predicted effects in favor of the intervention group for all measures, except for physical activity that was marginally significant, and the non-significant outcomes of waist circumference and systolic blood pressure. Effect sizes (Cohens' d) were moderate for autonomy support (d=.62), autonomous motivation (d=.40) and cardiorespiratory fitness (d=.54), but small for all other measures. SEM analysis demonstrated a good fit between the data and the SDT process model. Discussions: Considering the moderate effects on motivation and cardiorespiratory fitness, which predicted all other health measures, offering autonomy supportive interventions at the work place has important practical implications for the health of employees.

This research explores the necessary actions and dynamic capabilities needed of retailers to create, extend and modify the organisational resource base required for realising omnichannel retailing.Design/methodology/approachA qualitative exploratory design with in-depth interviews of Generation Z customers and retail firms was used to provide insights into the dynamic capabilities necessary for obtaining omnichannel retailing.FindingsThis research elaborates on the dynamic capabilities needed for omnichannel solutions related to (1) the underlying technology (i.e. develop an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and online store), (2) customer experience optimisation (i.e. develop product delivery, return routines, supply chain management, curated exhibitions, showrooms and pop-up stores), (3) internal and external collaboration (i.e. collaborate across business units, strengthening the core leadership team and collaborate and align with service ecosystem partners and (4) overall omnichannel functionality (i.e. establish a customer-oriented retail culture, and integrate marketing communication and customisation through data exploration).Originality/valueThis research enriches the retailing literature on omnichannel solutions and responds to the need for theoretical anchoring by applying the dynamic capability perspective to address actions useful for realising omnichannel retailing.

Studiens problemstilling er: «Hvordan kan rekrutteringsprosessen etableres som en strategisk fora... more Studiens problemstilling er: «Hvordan kan rekrutteringsprosessen etableres som en strategisk forankret og formalisert prosess i virksomheter?». Medarbeiderne er virksomhetens viktigste ressurs. Riktig kompetanse er avgjørende for opprettholdelse og utvikling av konkurransekraft over tid. Strategisk forankring i rekrutteringsarbeidet er avgjørende for å ivareta koblingen mellom virksomhetens kompetansebehov og dens konkurransekraft i sitt marked. Artikkelen henter teoretisk inspirasjon fra en 6-trinns modell for strategisk rekruttering (Fredriksen & Sørebø 2013) og en matrise bestående av dimensjonene «grad av strategisk forankring» og «grad av formalisert» rekruttering (Fredriksen 2017). 6-trinnsmodellen beskriver hvordan bedrifter kan formalisere og forankre rekrutteringsarbeidet strategisk gjennom seks ulike trinn. De fem første trinnene omhandler forarbeid, mens, trinn seks tar for seg stillingsutlysningen og seleksjonsprosessen. Matrisen vi presenterer bygger på denne 6-trinnsmodellen og viser fire mulige plasseringer i forhold til hvor formalisert og strategisk forankret rekrutteringsprosessen i virksomheter er. Undersøkelsen er gjennomført som metodetriangulering, der data hentes fra flere kilder. Det er gjennomført kvalitative intervjuer og en spørreundersøkelse med informanter fra 12 ulike bedrifter. I tillegg er 50 stillingsannonser fra finn.no gjennomgått og analysert. Undersøkelsen viser at de fleste virksomhetene har mye å hente ved å gjennomføre et grundigere forarbeid. Analyse av dagens og fremtidens bemanningsbehov, samt bedre stillingsanalyser bør prioriteres. Lav prioritering av forarbeidet er lite forenlig med et strategisk forankret rekrutteringsarbeid. Mye av forankringen ligger i forarbeidet, der dagens og fremtidens bemannings- og kompetansebehov kartlegges med basis i virksomhetens forretningsstrategi. Tilsvarende vil vektlegging av formalisering gjennom økt kontroll og ansvarlighet for rekrutteringsarbeidet, innføring av kjøreregler, prosessbeskrivelser og rutiner kunne utgjøre et forbedringspotensial i flere av virksomhetene. Bedriftene kan for eksempel hente en del på å tildele ansvar for å utarbeide oversiktlige og innholdsrike utlysningstekster. Teachers’ support of student autonomy in physical education (PE) is believed to be important for ... more Teachers’ support of student autonomy in physical education (PE) is believed to be important for students’ motivation and outcomes in PE. We tested the hypothesis that an intervention designed to help teachers to be more autonomy supportive in teaching their students to use learning strategies (relative to standard teaching) would increase students’ perceived autonomy support from the teachers, perceived competence, autonomous motivation, use of learning strategies and their exertion, participation, and grades in PE over a school year. We also tested a self-determination theory (SDT) process model. Experimental effects of the intervention yielded significant positive effects on changes in perceived autonomy support, learning strategies defined as absorption and effort regulation, as well as for performance (i.e., grades). In testing the SDT process model with SEM, most of the predicted paths were significantly supported.

This decision encouraged us to review the questionnaire development from the UCLA Prostate Cancer Index (UCLA-PCI) to the EPIC-16 CP with a focus on psychometric properties. We also reviewed PubMed for papers concerning such properties of the EPIC-26 since 2012 (latest review in 2011). Finally, we examined the psychometric properties of the EPIC-26 in a sample of Norwegian males treated with robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP). The aim of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the translated Norwegian versio... more The aim of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the translated Norwegian version of the Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire (CPAQ-20) and the shorter version CPAQ-8 based on the same data. The sample consisted of 120 women with chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain (CWP). The respondents completed CPAQ-20 and visual analogue scales (pain, fatigue, sleep problems and depression), General Health Questionnaire-12, The Pain Catastrophizing Scale, Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire and SF-8. Confirmatory factor analyses were performed on a one-factor baseline model, the previous validated CPAQ-20 and CPAQ-8 models, as well as an exploratory generated model based on the current sample. The two-factor model of CPAQ-20 and a two-factor model of CPAQ-8 obtained adequate model fit and outperformed the baseline model. The exploratory factor, analysis-generated two-factor model obtained only a marginally better fit, supporting the two-dimensional model of CPAQ-20. CPAQ-20 and CPAQ-8 had Cronbach's alphas between 0.75 (Pain Willingness subscales both versions) and 0.85. Both scales correlated significantly in the hypothesised direction with all the other scales. The Norwegian versions of CPAQ-20 and CPAQ-8 are reliable assessment tools with good construct validity for measurement of acceptance. Future studies should validate the scales in other Norwegian samples. Implication for Rehabilitation CPAQ-20 and CPAQ-8 are valid Norwegian instruments for measuring acceptance of pain. Acceptance of pain is an important process in the rehabilitation of persons with chronic widespread pain. Treatment models supporting acceptance can now be developed and measured further in Norway.

ABSTRACT This study examines the motivations underlying teachers’ intention to continue using inf... more ABSTRACT This study examines the motivations underlying teachers’ intention to continue using information and communication technology (ICT) in higher education. In an extended model based on Information Systems Continuance Theory (ISCT) and agency theory (PAT), teachers’ continuance intention is theorized as a function of their perceived usefulness of ICT and confidence in the effect of incentive structures. The research model was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with LISREL, and seven out of eight hypotheses were supported. By combining the two theories, the paper fills a gap in the literature by addressing both personal and managerial perspectives. Thus, the study contributes to Information Systems continuance research by theorizing and validating an extended model that integrates two complementary perspectives and by explaining the interrelationships between these perspectives. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications are presented and discussed, and suggestions for future research are provided.

ABSTRACT This study examines the motivations underlying teachers’ intention to continue using inf... more ABSTRACT This study examines the motivations underlying teachers’ intention to continue using information and communication technology (ICT) in higher education. In an extended model based on Information Systems Continuance Theory (ISCT) and agency theory (PAT), teachers’ continuance intention is theorized as a function of their perceived usefulness of ICT and confidence in the effect of incentive structures. The research model was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with LISREL, and seven out of eight hypotheses were supported. By combining the two theories, the paper fills a gap in the literature by addressing both personal and managerial perspectives. Thus, the study contributes to Information Systems continuance research by theorizing and validating an extended model that integrates two complementary perspectives and by explaining the interrelationships between these perspectives. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications are presented and discussed, and suggestions for future research are provided.
