This paper presents the initial steps of a work focused on the evaluation of brain patterns that occur when an individual excites the brain to perform an action. The final goal of this project is to implement this method in a real time program that is capable of filtering the signals obtained by brain measurement system; treating these signals to obtain the amplitude accumulation at the indicated frequencies and sending the control commands to a RPAS in order to be able to control it.
This paper combines Bayesian networks (BN) and information theory to model the likelihood of seve... more This paper combines Bayesian networks (BN) and information theory to model the likelihood of severe loss of separation (LOS) near accidents, which are considered mid-air collision (MAC) precursors. BN is used to analyze LOS contributing factors and the multi-dependent relationship of causal factors, while Information Theory is used to identify the LOS precursors that provide the most information. The combination of the two techniques allows us to use data on LOS causes and precursors to define warning scenarios that could forecast a major LOS with severity A or a near accident, and consequently the likelihood of a MAC. The methodology is illustrated with a case study that encompasses the analysis of LOS that have taken place within the Spanish airspace during a period of four years.

The proposed algorithm is useful in applications where the influence of round-off errors reduces the accuracy of the numerical solution of the associated Riccati equation. When the Riccati equation does not remain symmetric and positive definite, the fidelity of the solution can degrade to the point where it corrupts the Kalman gain, and it can corrupt the estimate. In this research, we design an adaptive KF implementation based on SVD, provide its derivation, and discuss the stability issues numerically. The filter is derived by substituting the SVD of the covariance matrix into the conventional discrete KF equations after its initial propagation, and an adaptive estimation of the covariance measurement matrix Rk is introduced. This paper focuses on the strategic conflict management for four-dimensional trajectories (4DT) in free-route airspace. 4DT has been proposed as the future operational concept to manage air traffic.
