This research aims at finding out the types of code-switching used by the students in the English... more This research aims at finding out the types of code-switching used by the students in the English as a foreign language classroom interaction. The research employed descriptive qualitative research design. The subjects were the students of English language education program. All of them used Papuan Malay language in their daily life but in class they used Indonesian language as mother tongue and English language as target language. The researcher findings that there are five types of code-switching that used by the students in EFL classroom interaction. Those Inter – sentential, Intra – sentential, and tag switching. For each type, the switch frequently used was as a clause, then as a word, and the last was as a sentence. They used them to clarify what they said because they tended to repeat or tried to translate the words again, and another reason was switching the words into the daily language was one of the ways to use to continue speaking. <jats:p>Identifying English for Specific Purposes material for A Specific Student was the p... more <jats:p>Identifying English for Specific Purposes material for A Specific Student was the process of selecting, adjusting, and evaluating English material based on the special needs of students. Need analysis is needed to identify ESP learning material. The purpose of this research was to identify the English for Specific Purpose (ESP) Materials need by students in learning the English Language for Students in Maritime Affairs and Fisheries School using mix method. Through the Cluster Random Sampling, thirty-six students of fisheries product processing technology department level II at Sekolah Usaha Perikanan Menengah (SUPM) Negeri Sorong became the sample of this research. Guttman scale questionnaires and interviews were used to collect the Data. Questionnaires were given to students to find out the goals, necessities, want, and lack of students. To do the triangulation method, the interview was conducted to deeper explanation gather from the Questionnaires' answer. The results showed that ESP Material need by the students in the fisheries product processing technology department was English learning material that related to fisheries product processing technology in order students can use the language when having a job. While the ESP topics that students were expected to learn are about the duties of a captain, special terms in shipping, special terms of fisheries, ways to operate machinery, conversations about fisheries, ways to bind fish, special terms for a cook and others English materials are correlated with fisheries product processing technology department.</jats:p>

Kampung Bano menjadi lokasi pembelajaran karena jaraknya dengan Kota Kabupaten yang cukup jauh. Berdasar pada data terbaru distrik Bamusbama, 72% masyarakat kampung Bano tidak mengenyam pendidikan. Hal tersebut tentunya berbanding sama dengan kemampuan calistung yang dimilki masyarakat. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, KKN-PPM dengan 20 mahasiswa UM-Sorong melalui hibah Kemenristek Dikiti dilakukan dengan kegiatan pembelajaran Calistung. Illiteracy learning activities carried out in Syarwom village to improve the society’s literacy ability. The number of participants is 32 people. The number of participants with literacy ability was 6% only with limited ability. The study used a true Experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all the college students studied in London school. It was 45 students. The sample was taken using random sampling. It was 24 students divided into two classes. The experimental group was 12 and the rest 12 students were as the control group. The N-gain calculation was used to know the effectiveness of the EGRA implementation in improving students' ability to understand the usage of the present perfect tense. Program ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga bentuk kegiatan yaitu penyuluhan pendidikan, mengajar bahasa Inggris di sekolah dan English fun day . Program ini bertujuan menumbuhkan motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa SMP N 1 Saonek Raja Ampat. Seluruh siswa sekolah menjadi peserta dalam program ini, 43 siswa yang tersebar di tiga tingkatan kelas. Diantaranya 13 siswa di Kelas 1, 15 siswa di Kelas 2 dan 15 siswa di kelas 3. Because in addition to the academic interests, the Moi tribe Kambik (traditional education) education is a new alternative form of humanity awareness in the Moi tribe of Sorong Regency. The results of this study could be a recommendation and input for the Sorong Regency government to plant the values of Kambik education itself in the generation of indigenous Moi children in Sorong Regency in particular and the Moi generation in general. The results of the study are, First: project files for alternative education design in Sorong Regency or can be involved as a special curriculum.
