Retail sales in Spain climbed by 4.1% year-on-year in September 2024, following an upwardly revised 2.4% increase in the prior month. This was the strongest growth in retail activity since March 2023, mainly boosted by sales of non-food products (+4.8%), of which household equipment (+6.8%), healthcare products (+3.7%) and personal goods (+3.2%). Also, spending on food products rose by 3.3%. Conversely, e-commerce sales dropped by 8.2%. On a monthly basis, retail trade rose by 1% in September, the most in nearly a year, after a 0.4% increase in the prior month.
