Portugal's current account surplus widened to EUR 1,162 million in September 2024 from EUR 381 million in the same month a year earlier. The services surplus rose to EUR 3,240 million from EUR 2,990 million in September 2023, driven by higher tourism revenues (EUR 3,077 million from EUR 2,825 million), and the secondary income surplus went up to EUR 473 million from EUR 426 million.
