Indonesia Q4 House Prices Rise the Least in 1-1/2 Years
Residential property prices in Indonesia climbed by 1.74 percent year-on-year during the fourth quarter of 2023, following a 1.96 percent gain in the previous period. It marked the softest pace of growth since the second quarter of 2022 due to a softer rise in costs for building materials. Prices moderated for large houses (1.58% vs 1.70% in Q3) and medium properties (1.87% vs 2.44%), while those of small accelerated slightly (2.15% vs 2.11%). Among cities, prices rose the least in Banjarmasin (0.70%), Denpasar (0.43%), Pekanbaru (0.33%), and Manado (0.32%). Meanwhile, sales in residential property grew by 3.27% yoy in the fourth quarter of 2023, rebounding from a 6.59% fall in the third quarter.
