It allows users to retrieve relevant objects in digital collections by using uniform interface. The FBC currently provides to the more than 2 million objects from around 120 digital libraries. All system of digitization is distributed with the lack of uniform planning policy. The authors used FBC metadata to analyze the dynamics of changes of digital knowledge. The article presents timeline characteristics of digital collections growth as also proposed a new dynamics index, based on date fi elds in FBC database. The delay time was introduced as an interval between creation date of document and its later network publishing. Due to visual analysis the authors found that delay time shape on histograms is not random, but depends on the type of digital library. The proposed method can help in these institutions systematics as well as in monitoring the dynamics of digital knowledge growth.

We analysed communication on ResearchGate within the group formed by Nicolaus Copernicus University different domains researchers. They share interest in information visualisation and form local collaboration team. We considered two compositions of research sample: the original team and the nearest collaborators. The common attributes of RG users such as coauthorship, skills set, topics, and ascribed domains were analysed. Based on these units, we carry out the sociographs to reveal social structure dynamics. Domain analysis was performed by the use of the PCA – the method which is able to extract the most essential factors from the variables set. The results indicate a good coincidence for these two approaches: collaboration between researchers and their skills development can significantly change their major. We strived to show that RG i...

The paper presents the model for studying disciplinary diversity of scientific units. The premise of the article is that knowledge of disciplinary profiles of researchers can be applied to create interdisciplinary teams, or one disciplinary team with a focused specializations.Approach/Methods: The approach is based on the visualization and comparison of disciplinary space and space of co-authorship. Fuzzy logic and aggregation norm were used to calculate disciplinary weights of each journal listed in the database. For visualization, new, dimension reduction algorithm t-SNE was applied. Achieved results were verified by using the expert’s knowledge. Results and conclusions: In the evaluation of scientific collaboration, a co-authorship relationship can be complemented by researchers’ disciplinary profiles represented by ag...
