Steeljaw (FOC)
From Transformers Wiki
This article is about the Autobot from the Aligned continuity family. For the Decepticon also from the Aligned continuity family, see Steeljaw (RID). For a list of other meanings, see Steeljaw (disambiguation). |
- Steeljaw is an Autobot Mini-Con from Fall of Cybertron portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Steeljaw is an Autobot Deployer under the command of Blaster with a powerful bite. He's ill-tempered, rickety, and occasionally emits noxious fumes or sparks bad enough to set his surroundings on fire. Any relation to the Decepticon leader of the same name is currently unknown at this point.

Toys
Generations
- Autobot Blaster (Voyager Class, 2013)
- Hasbro Series / number: 1 / 004
- TakaraTomy ID number: TG17
- Known designers: Joe Kyde (Hasbro), Andrew Scribner (deco artist)
- Only available with Blaster as part of the second wave of Generations Voyager Class toys, Steeljaw is a retooling of Fall of Cybertron Ravage, transforming from a "data disc" into a robotic lion. He is capable of storing in and launching out of Blaster's chest compartment, and features a partial, spring-loaded transformation to lion mode that is triggered when a button on his underside is pressed.
- Unlike the other data disc redeco/retools, Hasbro Steeljaw uses exactly the same circuit-board layout as his mold-mate Ravage, rather than a mirrored version.
- The TakaraTomy version of Steeljaw has quite a few differences form the Hasbro release. His yellow plastic is a slightly darker shade. Silver paint has been added to his legs and nose, plus gold paint on his upper back. He has a small Autobot symbol added over each shoulder. And while he has the same circuit-board pattern as the Hasbro release, the colors have been heavily altered. Where the Hasbro version uses a high-contrast dark brown and medium-bronze combination, the TakaraTomy version uses a very light brown and dark gold combo, and also inverts the darker/lighter orientation.
