Ken Frieden
Ken Frieden is the B. G. Rudolph Professor of Judaic Studies at Syracuse University. His last book was _Travels in Translation: Sea Tales at the Source of Jewish Fiction_ (2016). Prior books include _Classic Yiddish Fiction_ (1995) and anthologies of Yiddish literature in translation, such as _Tales of Mendele the Book Peddler_ (with Dan Miron, 1996) and _Classic Yiddish Stories_ (2004). At Syracuse University Press, since 1995, Frieden has been general editor of the series on Judaic Traditions in Literature, Music, and Art (formerly with Harold Bloom). He translates from Yiddish and Hebrew and has edited collections by the Israeli authors Etgar Keret (Four Stories) and David Ehrlich (Who Will Die Last: Stories of Life in Israel).
